I’m pegging it on PS3 Slim sales - a lot of people, gamers that own 360s, have decided to finally grab a PS3 as well, and they want to test out the new hardware. That’s what I would probably do, anyway.

I’m surprised they picked ACII as a game with a strong “franchise lineage,” though, as opposed to… I dunno, Final Fantasy or something. Something that’s had more than ONE game released.

HDMI is standard on the Elite. And it has plenty of HD space. And far more software support. Developers have a far better software infrastructure in XNA. I would have thought if you’re serious about gaming the XBox 360 Elite would be the clearest choice by far, especially given the shortcomings of the PS3 and Sony’s complete mishandling of their product. The only reason I would own a PS3 now is Blu-Ray and I’m in no rush to do that.

But, each to their own, I always say.

For the record… according to the latest vgchartz:
32.82 million people worldwide own 360s.
26.06 million own PS3’s.

that’s not as sizeable as TK Chillin hopes, I’m sure.

I can’t put an exact reason on why, but I’ve been buying everything for PS3 lately as opposed to 360. I know i’m in a minority, but i definitely like the ps3 controller better, I definitely like the XMB a ton more than the child-esque dashboard, i have more hard drive space on my ps3 for installing, i have my ps3 plugged in hdmi (through my receiver, with my cable box) so it’s less changing of buttons on remotes to get the ps3 on, and it’s more reliable hardware.

Misleading data: 15 percent of those who plan to buy the PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed 2 own the Xbox 360 version of the original, while only 7 percent of those who plan to buy the Xbox 360 version own the original game on PS3.

But given that sales for games on the PS3 have been lower for the last few years, it’s only natural that there would be a smaller percentage of gamers who are switching from one to the other.

Unless they interviewed every gamer in the world(which they didn’t) it is just a number they pulled out of their a**. Studies like this are nothing but a big waste of money. There is no way they can possibly get accurate results.

Since there is way more people that own a 360 than a PS3 I could see that more people could be getting a PS3 this year. I had a PS2 and a Xbox and see no problem owning both. AC 2 is also not an Online Muti-player Game and I would lend a thought to getting it on PS3. But for MW 2…HELL NO!!!Xbox Live all the way!!! The games are not out yet so we will wait and see.

That’s funny as I do live in what was my grandparents house(god rest their souls)and it is very nice indeed. If the new features are interfearing with the online gaming then yes there is reason to complain. What makes no sense is the desire for Live to be free. The 50 dollar price point helps filter out a lot of kids and losers that other wise whould be online pissing me off. If you ask me (and I know you didn’t) they should raise it to 100 dollars, must be 21 yrs old, and show a picture ID!!! LoL!!!

I’m from Scotland and no one says “I amn’t”, they say “I amnae” or ” ‘amno” amn’t is used in the question “How amn’t I?” which means “Why am I not” - this is just slang though and every region in Britain has their own variety of slang. This type of language is not used in formal ways like typing.

No its just a technological problem where the console can detect its not a legit disc because of security exploits. I think the ones that dont get caught - dont take the game online. You are only caught when you play online.

I don’t get it, MS uses the ban hammer quite often, I guess they can detect pirates. How come so many people are able to play pirated copies without being caught?

So for the pirate the only option is to wait when the game is officially released to avoid detection?

To complain about added feature is kinda dumb to me. However, the way MS is doing it is tricky. The fact of the matter is that MS wants people to continue to pay their $50 bucks a year for LIVE.

Sorry, its not worth it. Gamers will sing the MS song and dance to tell you how great a value it is but it really isn’t. Just because the other systems may not be as good doesn’t mean that LIVE is worth $50 bucks.

MS knows that paying for multiplayer online is not worth it so they added these features that everyone can get for free elsewhere. They say its free for Gold ($50) members but its all semantics.

Unfortunately, many will see MS adding all these free features as value but to their dismay, the other consoles will soon get them and as stated, it was free before it got to the 360.

Shame on you MS. Drop the $50 bucks for LIVE. You’ve made your gazillion dollars from it already.

Same here, the monthly fee for the Live Tv is £5 per month, but all the channels are shit! Not even Sky 1, 2 or 3 as Live!!!

The only good thing this has is the on-demand movies for those with Sky Movies and thats about it. Also the on-demand should have had the low/medium/high quality choices like Live Tv has.
