Backwards compatibility list updated
Major Nelson informs us that the backwards compatibility list for Xbox games has been updated with 27 titles of which 6 of them are some weird Japanese only titles. The total list of backwards compatible games has now over 200 entries. Only a couple of high quality titles this time like Doom 3, FlatOut or LEGO Star Wars.

Just like the previous backwards compatibilty update, a CD-version of this update will be made available at Xbox.com for people that don’t have Xbox live (do they exist?).
Despite of some rumors floating around, the backwards compatibility team will keep on making games backwards compatible until they reach their goal which is to get every game working on the Xbox 360, or at least as close as they can get with that.

I don’t care about backward compatibility, but I’m glad for the people who do care about it. I think you just have to move on to real Xbox 360 games and not play the old Xbox games. You can play thos e on your Xbox!
The only one on that list, that I might actually think about playing again.. is Doom 3.
My original has been broken for quite some time. I do not care for Backwards Compatibility too much, but if I start to get bored.. especially with the ‘Summer’, and no Arcade game releases.. I would love to finish Doom 3.

I like getting new games cause it means
a) I can have one console with all my saves on it
b) It’s nice to play some games again on my 360 with not many games out at the moment that I want (waiting for prey)
Now, if only they could get the guide to work with the bc games that aren’t live aware that would b great cause then i would know when someone is online when playing GTA

no rallisport challenge 2?? argh. i’m going to be plying doom 3 co-op for the first time today though.
Microsoft claims that they are updating the BC list based on user feeback. From this update, I think it’s painfully obvious that this is not the case.
but remember, some of these games work when another, better game is emulated. bad boys 2 may have worked when they made the rallisport emulator, who knows.
they are, it’s just that some games are taking longer - if they did all of the titles we wanted, we prob would only get like 4 titles like the march update - and we all know how well that went

they need to just focus on the games people want. releasing all these titles makes people think they actually go and work on these. im sure that they just randomly inserted bad boys and found it works based on another game they worked on. or so they say. however, its really making people made when they think that they worked on bad boys 2 instead of counterstrike or riddick.
Anyone know if Doom3:ResurrectionOfEvil is compatible, also?

I don’t really think it would be a good idea, nor will it happen, considering some games, like Ninja Gaiden, are 7-9 gigs.
PGR2 was 5 times the game PGR3 was. I liked PGR3, but I looooooved PGR2. I will never be satisfied with backwards compatibility until PGR2 is on the list.
