Call of Duty 2 update content rumor
We all know that there are 2 updates scheduled this week: an Xbox 360 Dashboard update on Monday and the Call of Duty 2 update the day after. However the contents of the Call of Duty 2 patch remain unknown. I came across this quote from what is supposed to be the blog of one of the editors for IGN.com. It states that the patch will include ‘many new features’ and two maps will be released roughly two months after the release of the patch. As soon as we get any confirmation on this we will let you know!
The patch, to be released on tuesday of next week, folliwing an important Xbox Live Dashboard update will include many new features. After a quick “beta-test” our reporter Henry Brookenheimer reports that ‘the update will include: Weapon Selection, 3 Gametype choices including CTF, a way to invite friends and start your own server, and dedicated servers to reduce online lag.’ The online community, mainly the folks over at the Xbox Forums (http://forums.xbox.com) have threatened to boycott Infinity Ward, the people behind Call of Duty 2, and ‘Ward is responding. Following the realease, (roughly two months) Jerry Gavin (Executive Art Director) says two new maps will be released saying , “I cannot reveal the names or aspects of the maps, but one will be set in a desert environment, the other in an African Rainforest.”
cool man… well it sounds like its true, well we should see the dashboard update today i guess… no sign as of now… please if there is something let us know, i’m gonna go out in about an hour and then come back and i’ll be here basically the whole day, so please if u turn ur 360 and see theres an update post here so we all know, thx

May the xbox now support divx? And will it possible to put movies on to the xbox harddrive from a PC e.g?
I think it’ll be downloading in the background (while doing other stuff) and some minor fixes. We’ll see.
it will be a BLAST if it could play DIVX and will be able to transfer videos from the PC but i’m not sure its going to happen in this update.. maybe later on.. not sure
It would be great but I don’t think it will happen. I forgot that this patch also brings webcam support. Supposebly.

Microsoft and DivX don’t go together very well. Something to do with Microsoft having their own formats.
Downloading in the background would be good, i always thought it was strange they didn’t have that before.
When Major Nelson went on the Pirillo Show a while after launch, he basically dashed all hopes of DivX ever coming to 360. He said when retail movies start using DivX, then the 360 will: ie, never.
damn we still waiting… i hope this doesnt come out a rumor in the end.. (the dashboard update that is supposed to be today)
most patches and demos and so forth release in the late hours pacific time. it may be after midnight eastern time before it comes out. anyways id bet money on it that itll be out by the middle of next month before fight night and full auto hit.
So how can soneone be so sure that the dashboard update is coming out today? I have not seen anything about this on some of microsoft websites.

Well on Teamxbox it says that the update is released now on xbox live, but where? I cant find it.

The download will start auto when you turn on your xbox, not everyone gets it at ones… just keep trying.

zzsdkzz they have lots of maps from cod1, like carentan. and i dont think you guys should get upset over an update.
in order to update ur console easily just launch any live enabled game and itll ask u to update.

A lie is a bit harsh isn’t it? It clearly states this is nothing but a rumor. And it’ll stay that as long as IW confirms nor denies anything, a forum post is just as much a reliable source as the one for this article. Thanks for the headsup though

I am thinking of buying Call of Duty 2 for the pc and I found this blog via google. I would like to know if any of your blog readers would recommend this game? I have read some reviews and it seems to be a good game, but i try to get as many opinions as possible before parting with my cash.
