Frogger hands-on, Achievements and screens
Only one game this fall is going to showcase the true power of the Xbox 360, and that’s Frogger, a game which needs no introduction (it shouldn’t, anyway, but kids these days.) IGN downloaded it off PartnerNet and took it for a test-drive, and gave us an Achievement list and lots of beautiful screenshots.
Well Ordered - 15 G - On any level fill 5 frog slots from right to left.
Complete Level 2 - 15 G - Beat the second level.
Complete Level 3 - 15 G - Same deal, third level.
Complete Level 4 - 20 G - Do what the title says.
Complete Level 5 - 20 G - Take a wild guess.
Speed Racing - 20 G - Get all 5 frogs home in level 1 in less than 45 seconds.
Helping Hand - 20 G - Save 5 lady frogs in one game.
Full Stomach - 10 G - Eat 3 bugs in one game.
Chicken 1 - 10 G - On level 1 stay on the road until the timer is red, then reach home.
Chicken 2 - 15 G - On level 2 stay on the road until the timer is red, then reach home.
Home Sweet Home - 20 G - Deliver 15 frogs to the frog home without dying once.
Co-op Brilliance - 20 G - Reach a score of 30,000 or more while playing an Xbox Live co-op game.
From what I remember from the Playstation version I played until my eyes bled this will not be a difficult game to get Gamerpoints with. Disappointingly, the playable area in Frogger on an high-def set only takes up one-third of the screen. Like other coin-op classic games such as Gauntlet and Joust, the graphics can be enhanced, the screen can be resized (though hopelessly stretched) and the game mechanics can be tweaked (however, high scores and achievements can’t be obtained on anything other than default settings).

I am a little worried about the use of a “cosmic” background, though, when a swamp or highway background would be much more fitting. At any rate, Konami has until August or September to decide, and the game should be 400 Microsoft Points. Multiplayer will not cost extra.

How much is access to PartnerNet? MRC/NRC?
You need at least a $2k debugkit to access it
Anyone in the public can get this?
I played this game on the Atari 2600 as a kid. I don’t really want to play it now, but I’m pretty sure I could get all those achievements. I might buy the game just to see if I can. I’m so pathetic.
this is humorous, just the other day when major nelson had his podcast with the xbla guy (who seemed to be double talking a lot), he was saying one of the prerequisites of an xbla game is good use of the 16×9 widescreen.
WTF?!
I repeat: W T F !?
