Ghost Recon Chapter 2 now up
And it came out on time, too! Ubisoft told everyone today that it’d be out, and it was one of the microscopically few downloads to be released when promised. Read on for the sales pitch.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Chapter 2 Content includes:
Continuation of the multiplayer Co-op campaign with 4 all-new missions in Chapter 2
8 revisited, relit multiplayer Adversarial maps
2 all-new game types with 1 new game mode – Team Battle
2 new camouflage patterns
4 new character customization faces
5 new weapons
The download has been spotted in several countries, and costs 1200MP for 725Mb of content. For more info see the hands-on session or the original announcement.
That’s a good set of downloadable content there. Round of applause for the guys at Ubisoft.
I am kinda shocked at the price point though. Already downloading it, but I would’ve expected 800MP more. And my god it’s SLOW, 1% here after 10 minutes. With an 8Mbit connection.

15 dollars is pretty steep. I wish that more devs would follow Bungie’s system of DLC. I was pretty excited about this expansion but being the broke college student that I am, I may have to pass. =(

High, as mentioned in another comment I had expected 800MP. I’ll have to judge the content itself though to see whether it’s worth it.
I think the high price point is going to cause a split between online players though. There are going to be a lot of players not picking it up now, forcing them to play other games than those who do. That’s a bad move imho.
after i realized that ms gets 30-40% on content, it was easy to figure out that they were going to start nudging devs to raise prices on this “content”
Ms’s marketing strategy is to make people go back to pc gaming. and with stuff like this on xblm, its working.

1200 points (10€) is way to expensive , what about giving everybody the update 4 free ?? nevermind ill go and use my money on a big peperoni pizza or some fresh ravioli w/ mozarella and garlic bread..

Not true: PC version is not only a completely different game, the free DLC that was released is a lot different too. Most obviously, no new missions are added.
Curry, according to all the xbox.com forums, for which has both PC and 360 gamers, the content is very similar, if not the same…. UBI shot themselfs in the foot with the price, its stupid. PC game is same as 360, xbox 1 is different game.
I’ve said multiple times that I also think it’s overly expensive. But the fact is simple that it’s not nearly the same content. If you read that page I link too you’ll notice the PC upgrade is more “finishing” the game than actually expanding it: they’ve enabled Deathmatch multiplayer mode and made some more campaign levels enabled for coop, which is not new content. Not only does the 360 have a different campaign for single player, it has a completely unique different campaign for multiplayer. Which has now been expanded by 4 entirely new missions.
The PC campaign is also less action-oriented than the 360 version and more stealth based.

they gave for free the picture pack of the outfit beacuse anybody download it, if anybody paid for this crap at the end it will be free
I was all ready to buy it at $10. When I saw $15, I said F that. I quit playing GRAW a couple months ago due to random disconnects. They didn’t even fix that with this download. I’m not paying $15 to play the same random disconnecting game.
Ive been downloading it for about 4 hrs right now and im still only 10% percent and its pissn me off. so many people downloading right now the servers cant handle so its gonna take ALL NIGHT LONG 2 GET DONE..
if it had 8 new maps, sure. even if it had a map editor ok. but 4 new maps, a few guns, camo, and some faces is not that impressive. u guys realize the relit maps are just filler, i mean how long did that take. to me the dlc is just the maps and modes. not worth 15 dollars. but im also probably just getting old, and jaded. and pissed i lost my “prey” earlier today.

This is Bull s##t, I think in the future all the game developer going to star ripping off the gamers doing uncomplete games and them selling extra content on Xbox Live, to be honest I’n not in favor of this things

When you put the game in the box,it will ask for an update.I dont know what this patch fixes,there are no info yet.

The new content is nothing more that a mod! Some very minor code tweaks, a few maps, and some more textures. Ubisoft should realise that people are going to boycott all their games cause of stuff like this.
i gave up with the download last nite as it ceased to do anything but reset it back to 1% they must have know the demand for this pack after i just add 4200 mps to my account !!
its quite spendy to say the least. I am bad with peer pressure though. I know all of my friends will have it and I’ll be left in the dark if I dont get it.. Damn peer pressure!
They are high if they think that 4 maps and no single player additions AT ALL are worth $4 shy of a full expansion price. Freaking high. They will be getting no business from me again until they return to sanity.

That’s a little more then 14 Euro. And Kameo, Condemned soon to be lowered in price to 29,95 Euro. I’ll know what I do. Just get one of those instead of this download.
Maybe it’s just worth the money and maybe it cost that much in manhours put into it but I just think that they thought: so many people own GRAW and love it, they’ll pay a premium price. No we won’t
I’d bite and drop the $$ if I wasn’t so completely disenchanted with the matchmaking/lobby system in GRAW … I am sick of the hassles in finding ranked games, i.e.:
a.) search for a game type
b.) choose a host and try to join his lobby and HOPE against all odds that his game is not already in session
c.) if you do get in the lobby, you get booted after 3 seconds because the host is saving spots for his friends
d.) wait for 2-15 minutes (often the latter) for the lobby to fill & the host to start the game
e.) hope that while waiting these 5+ minutes that the host doesn’t change the gametype
f.) find that the players in the lobby are ranked nowhere near me ….
Bottomline: Instead of burning time and developing minimally different new content (”this one goes to 11″) that you charge me 1200 MP for, give me a functional matchmaking system so that I can play ranked games without all of the above headaches!!!
I don’t understand all the moaning … Folks paid 20 bones for the Halo map pack, which was about a quarter of the amount of content you’re getting here for cheeper.
For me the difference is that I knew I’d have fun w/ these new maps via Halo’s matchmaking … granted, the new Halo maps didn’t hit ranked matchmaking immediately, but they quickly became playable and I knew that w/ Halo’s solid matchmaking system that these would pay off (see my matchmaking gripes/post above).
I don’t feel that with GRAW. W/ ranked matchmaking the bitch that it is, I’m not sure this new content will give the same satisfaction. If I had a regular group of people that I GRAW’d w/, maybe that would be different, since we could all play the new content together.
Plus weren’t several of the Halo maps made available to download for free after a certain amount of time?
yep …. the 1st ones were released in may, a few more in june, and by august they were all free … plus, a few were free upfront, too

I got this error, when i go to the dowload screen it says i have to pay 1200 mspoints instead of free.
I got the same error, but a quick swipe of my ATM card took care of the proplem.

Geez I’ve never in my life seen such a bunch of whiners. Either buy it or don’t, it’s your perogative. Ubi has the right to charge whatever they want for their content and we have the right to purchase it or not. Graw was and is an outstanding game and when I get around to finishing it I will probably bite on the expansion pack. Gaming is such a cheap hobby compared to so many other things. You guys have no idea what it takes to make this software.
