No zombie slashing party?

Our German friends from Gamefront read the new OXM magazine and have some terrible news. No, Xboxic won’t quit, it’s worse! There will be no multiplayer option in Capcom’s upcoming game Dead Rising. This still remains kind of a rumor because it’s not officially confirmed by Capcom, but OXM is pretty reliable.

This means no party at the mall with your friends trying to stay alive while hordes of undead mother-in-laws or annoying little brothers try to eat your juicy heart. Besides this party pooping news I’ve got a couple of boxshots for the game. They Look pretty cool, but even these pictures won’t cheer me up knowing that the game won’t feature multiplayer slashing.

The game is supposed to come out exclusively for the Xbox 360 August 8th for the US and September 15th for Europe.

Is the 18+ for all of europe? If so, you guys in the Netherlands, i’d be pissed. You can buy drugs, but not violent videogames below 18. lol

This makes the game no more than some “Xbox Live Arcade Game” with fancy graphics for the full price, too bad :( No buyer for me…

I’m wanting a demo for this. Even if it’s got a restricted area of the mall and restricted time i don’t care. However, if a demo was to come out it would likely arrive late (see prey, GRAW, and most likely Saints Row for the future)

I’ve always thought this didn’t have multiplayer.
(BTW, it’s spelt heart, not hart.)

I just mixed in a little dutch ;)

I never saw any evidence that there was going to be multiplayer in the first place, so this doesn’t affect my purchase decision at all. Definitely the next game I’m going to buy - unless it slips behind Gears Of War of course ;)

To me it was a surprise people even thought this would include MP at all! :-P This is one of the must-haves for me! :-D

Not surprised that this doesn’t support multiplayer — with the amount of zombies onscreen at one time multiplayer would probably be pushing things. That said, I hope a co-op mode will be available, if not on day one, then as a future patch like Kameo.

When will we get to the point that too many things on screen won’t matter? I mean, I’m tired of paying $400 for a machine that has the same problems as the previous one has.

im still getting this game but multiplayer would make it 10x more fun. But i guess it just wont happen.

I didn’t count on it since Capcom said say that they’d implement multiplayer if they had enough production time left. I’d rather have a nice polished singleplayer-only Dead Rising than a rushed Dead Rising with crappy multiplayer. Day one purchase either way though.

This looks like it will be quite boring, I mean how long can you keep yourself entertained by killing the same zombies over and over…It would be different if the Zombies where real peep.

If you liked Dawn of the Dead and such, mixed with a little Shaun of de Dead (excellent flick btw), then this just might be it! I’m getting it (or actually, i want to review it :P)

Shaun rocked so hard. Man that movie was badass.

Like some other people said above me….I never expected the game to have multiplayer in the first place so this isn’t a disappointment. But it’d better be in the sequel heh :)

I agree, I saw some footage and this game looks super repetitive. I hope I’m wrong, but doubt it.

Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of to. The zombies all die the same way when hit with the same weapon in the videos. Like when you have the scissors they are all cut in half even if you dont aim there. That’s so previous-gen! But I hope there will be enough weapons to make it worthwhile. Oh Yeah Capcom rules (I want a next -gen 3d Street Fighter!)

first Capcom cannot get the Mutiplayer to work right in the old SF2,HF and now this? What is their problem with making xbox live mutiplayer games, everyone else can do it no problem. At least give us a online co-op game. I am starting to really hate this company.

I am starting to really hate this company.

B-b-b-b-but it’s Capcom :(. Don’t say such horrible things about the company that made and published great titles such as Megaman, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Powerstone, Rival Schools and Onimusha among many other.

Speaking of Capcom; I think I read that Lost Planet is going to feature fullblown multiplayer. If anyone’s interested I’ll look into it.

capcom rules, they are my favorite developer. resident evil 4 is currently my all-time favorite game, i just beat it for the 3rd time the other day with the typewriter and infinite launcher.

NOBODY EVER SAID THAT DEAD RISING WOULD HAVE MULTIPLAYER.

Shall we change the topic? …The right-hand box art is slightly better I think.

egm said its was so so in the new mag. they played it at e3, and just like chromehounds they said its reptitive. chrome was repetitive in its level design, and super slow paced. dead rising is more or less a tech demo.

It is not possible for Dead Rising to have multiplayer, The number of enemys on screen would have to be lowered from 1000 to 50. It would lag so much it wouldn’t be playable. Maybe in 5-10 years a game like this can have multiplayer.
