Huh, no pricedrops? Xbox 360 now $350! [Updated]
Some vague rumors circulated recently stating the Xbox 360 would drop up to $100 USD by Christmas this year to battle its arch-nemesis the PayStation 3. Xbox marketing big wig John Porcaro shot them rumors down quite effectively on the team’s weblog, but someone forgot to inform Dell.
Yep that’s right, the world’s largest reseller of computer hardware is offering the Xbox 360 Premium SKU for $359.99 on their site. Free ground shipping. No end date of the offer mentioned. Effectively, this means you and everyone else in the US can buy an Xbox 360 with harddisk, wireless controller and headset for 350 bucks. Now is that competing with $599 or isn’t it?

haha….the author of this article was quick to say that this price drop can compete with the $599.99 versin of PS3. He ignored everything the $599.99 PS3 comes with and he was wrong about the 360 price “after all” because it was a mistake made by Dell.

Wow. I stood outside for 19 hours about 8 months ago, and got stuck with buying a Core, Hard Drive, Component Cables, and Wireless Controller.
Then found out I wasn’t ‘cool’ anymore because I didn’t have the chrome finish.
$520.
Mines didn’t cost me one penny, took all my xbox related stuff (console games controlers) and traded it, still had £70 (GBP) to spend after I had got the premium system and three games with an extra controller and live subscription.

Drop up to and drop down would both be correct, but have slightly different meetings.
Saying it the way he did meant a price drop of $100. Saying drop down to $100 would mean it now cost $100. (You’d say “drop down BY $100″, but most people I know would say drop up).

Dutch buyers could this do months ago i did it also wehkamp was giving 10% discount on everything so i got my premium for €360
The store FYE (guessing it’s only a US store) had their 360 premiums for $360. They’ve been like that for a month at least, don’t know if it’s just a special but yeah =)
They also had Kameo, PDZ and PGR3 for like $29. <3 FYE right now.

you only drop ur prices when u need a stratgic upperhand. 399 compared to 599 is already a strategic upperhand. dont expect it to drop for a long time unless the wii starts to kick the 360s tail badly. they could keep it 399 for another 2 years if they wanted.

The price of the 360 WILL DROP this holiday despite what MS is telling you now. What they tell the press and release to the public is quite different from what they’ll tell friends, so trust me, it’ll drop for real
