Sensible World of Soccer heading to XBLA?

Could it be possible? After my rant back in February about the remake of Sensible Soccer that was released for Xbox, PS2 and PC this month, rumors are that publisher Codemasters is considering releasing the old-school Amiga game on Xbox Live Arcade.

Sensible Soccer!

Sensible World of Soccer, the greatest of the Amiga series from legendary developers Sensible Software, was intended to be included as a minigame in this year’s remake, but that feature got binned late in the development process. According to Eurogamer, an anonymous source now claims the game will be recycled in the 360’s Arcade section. Codemasters wouldn’t confirm it, but they do say they are actively investigating the possibilities of XBLA for their products.

If like me you are a sucker for this game, shout out below in the comments and I’ll make sure Codemasters reads it!

Probably not the best time to talk about soccer to the English… Don’t take this comment too personal, I am English by the way.

THANK GOD FOR RICARDO!

Big Phil Scolari’s something of a Scottish folk hero now too! ;)

Scotland praises Big Phil for his steling performance to knock england out, in penalties as well, just makes it even sweeter.

I have this Game Boy-esque collection of retro/knockoff games that plugs into the TV and one of the games is World Cup 2002, 8-bit, where the characters are bunnies. I’m thinking, this is the real next-gen soccer experience…

Big Phil is the man, peace from 66′ for another 4 years, thank god.

SWOS is probably the best game I played back in the day - It would be amazing to put it on LIVE. Can they get away with licensing and stuff though? Wonder how that would work?

Jon Hare of Sensible Software, who own all the IP, worked for Codemasters on Sensi 2006, so I think that shouldn’t be a real problem :)

They should have got this out for the World Cup. A 400 point game with just the World Cup to play out and then at the start of the new season release the full version for 800 points. Bargain for very little work!

Codemasters, it would be a massive oppurtunity missed if you do not do this!

Sensi is still the best football game I’ve ever played, I just hope this turns out to be true
