The galactica game brings an experience that is out of this world!

A few more pieces of Fable 2 revealed

Now that the story has been written down on paper and is ready to be implemented, Lionhead Studios’ Sam Vantilburgh dropped off a few hints as to the backstory of Fable 2 for the rabid fanbase’s general consumption. Interesting stuff, too.

Fable 2 takes place five hundred years after the original game and its expansion. It is set in something of a colonial time in the world of Albion, which explains the dress and weaponry of the characters featured in the trailer - it’s a musket! Vantilburgh says that the story is “more mature” than the previous game: while it won’t be extremely violent ala GTA, but that it will shock some people. (Gratuitous sex scenes? Watch out Jack Thompson.)

Note the musket in the first image. Boom!

Fable 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, but a late 2007 (Alongside Halo? Two-hit combo!) release is expected, currently only for the Xbox 360.

Currently for the Xbox 360 and always only for the Xbox 360. Microsoft owns Lionhead!

Fable: The Lost Chapters also got ported for PC.

I was referring to the PC as the other platform, yeah ;)

I’ve been a hardcore gamer for over 30 yrs. and Fable is one of the best ever! IMO

Fable 1 was severely overrated.
All reviews mention the promised features that never came. Also the story was shallow, the graphics funny, i mean, the characters looked super deformed, they had big hands like in FF VII, also framerate issues, bad gameplay etc.
While it may be the best RPG the xbox has ever seen, I am not holding my horses for this one.

I am open to be surprised however.

RPGs were you make a character without a name or identity never seem to work for me. Unless it’s guild wars.

I disagree, I think it was left lacking after the hype but if you ignored the hype it was a damn good game, just a lot smaller than I would have liked for an open RPG, but at least with the 360 they should have the power available to remedy that fault.

Bloody good first attempt though, just got to hope they learn from their mistakes and follow through on what they promise (unlike Sony for instance).

fable 1 was too damn short and too damn easy. All you had to do was cast multi-attack thgroughout the whoel game

I think I covered that in my post, didn’t I?

Yep it was an overrated game, but none the less it game me a lot of laughs, although it was a short ride. They should’ve opend up the arena when you finished the story. At least then you’d have something more to do for an hour or so.
Hope they hit the nail on this one. They got their practice run, now it’s time for a real RPG, with a real open world!

Everybody is always like “peter molyneux this, peter molyneux that” he produced and/or designed fable 1 and 2.

He is the most overrated guy in history. The press speaks like everything he makes is history in the making, but if you look through that then you’ll see that all his games after 1997 are mediocre. They never live up to what they promise.

It is not that strange, seeing that microsoft OWNS the guy peter molyneux. Peter is only hype and nothing more. It reminds me of this very demonstration by Peter Molyneux himself!!
http://youtube.com/watch?...search=xbox%20ping%20pong
here you can hear him say that the 733 mhz celeron in the xbox1 will have this kind of power.
Note: these effects are more powerful than hardware accelerated PC components released 6 years later. Conclusion: one very very big lie.
A double core Pentium at 3 Ghz cannot render this kind of things at stable framerates.
Do you now know why nobody believes in him anymore?
he lied to gamers about the power of xbox.

So did sony. They lied about the power of every console they made and everyone is still following them blindley.. So what’s your point ;)

Microsoft has never once lied to me, but this peter molyneux asshole makes it look like they do, while he is the one who comes up with the idea to lie about the hardware specs.
He makes MS look bad, also with his lame games.

Sony however has the biggest lie of all, these are PS2 tech demo’s, as you can tell they look a 1000 times better then what they turned out to be:

Microsoft is true and honest, i talk to them sometimes so i can know.

I talk to them on a regular bases for my job and practicly work for them, but as everyone who wants to make a profit, they lie too sometimes. Welcome to the real world my friend ;)

I disagree.

Nostradames is the most overated guy in history

You’re wrong. It’s Jesus Christ..

Comment by The_Glovner on 2006-07-11 16:57:53 | Reply

No because Jesus Christ was a character in a fantasy book and therefor not real.

You’ve got a point there. Nostradamus it is :D

You all are so dilluted and idiotic I’m surprised most of you have the compacity to lift your fingers to push the keys on your keyboards. Overrated??? What the hell are you talking aobut… Could you have done what Peter Molyneux has done? He is the first to fully utilize that what you do in a game affects the outcome of a game…good or evil. These game developers put their hearts and souls into their work because they love what they do but morons like you can’t appreciate it and then bash them and their games because it’s not up to your satisfaction. Sure their were problems with Fable as there are with ALL games. And if uyou can’t look past that then go bungie jumping with a rope neck tie you self pretentious retards.
