Activision hires Goldsmith for CoD3
Activision hired Emmy nominated composer Joel Goldsmith for their upcoming game Call of Duty 3. Activision’s Worldwide Executive of Music Tim Riley stated: “Goldsmith is one of the most versatile and talented music composers in the business and we’re excited to have him on board for Call of Duty 3. Fans know to expect a ‘cinematically intense’ experience from the Call of Duty franchise – Goldsmith is the man for the job.”
Joel Goldsmith is the son of well known composer Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager and another couple of Star Trek movies). Before his father passed away in 2004 Joel Goldsmith also worked together with his dad on the Star Trek movie First Contact. Other projects Joel Goldsmith worked on were “Stargate: Atlantis” (Emmy nominated), “Kull the Conqueror,” “Shadow of a Doubt,” “Helen of Troy” and “Witchblade.” Let’s hope that Star Trek Legacy will also contain music from Joel Goldsmith.
Call of Duty 3 is scheduled for release this fall for the Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Wii.
I was hoping Graeme Revell would also compose for CoD3 after the impressive OST he did for CoD2.
