Upcoming 31 XBLA titles known
Yeah we know. We’ve all been disappointed by the lack of Xbox Live Arcade titles appearing, and fiascos like the Texas Hold ‘em Poker and Street Fighter 2 delays didn’t make things better. The announcement of Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays changed things though, with Microsoft committing to bring us a new title every Wednesday. We didn’t know then how serious they were about continuing that for months though…
Although it was already floating around on Gaming Bits last week, there was no really reliable source for the list below. We now have good reasons to believe though that this list is correct, although perhaps not entirely complete. So here it is, the list of thirty-one titles to be released over the next few months worth of XBLA Wednesdays, in alphabetic order obviously, actual release dates TBA:

U know i look forward to them but theirs something i wish a group would make… Lemmings-NextGen … i mean come on give us a modernized lemmings game with some good graphics not too 3d … just a slightly off flat perspective to show it off and add some cool effects for explosions and stuff and walla a cool game

I don’t care about the ancient games (along the lines of Frogger and Galaga) because of the rubbish way they’ve been implemented (not even full screen? I mean, come on!)
I just hope that SF2 comes out this week as planned, or I shall cry.
p.s. I hope that Super Contra has a cheat mode built in - that game drove me insane on the SNES, although I still loved it.
My big complaint so far with Frogger and Galaga is the small screen. it would have been better if they scaled it. I have a nice big HDTV and I’m getting small, aged graphics. It might be nice to have such a “classic” mode, but I would prefer to see the game get a bit of an overhaul and work on the experience a bit more. (Reminds me of all those old EGA PC games that then got VGA remakes - but were essentially the same game).
For Frogger, press “Start” and tweak video options. You can set it to fullscreen
lol ya but its just a stretched version of the same sprites… they needed to upgrade the graphics, to high quality layouts and sprites then maybe it would hve been worth buying.

I think retro games defeat the point of the 360.
I think so too to a degree but let’s face it you need to have a little of everything to appeal to the masses. Keeps sales up that way.
No I don’t think updating the sprites defeats the purpose of retro games. First of all; you can just scale them up without doing any other updates to them, I don’t see that defeating any purposes as it just looks the way it did before but bigger. And then you have the actual upgrades themselves, Capcom re-released Mega Man 1 in the form of Mega Man Powered Up for the PSP which has 3D graphics (2D gameplay) and has a cuter look to it. I don’t think anyone felt as that ruined their retro experience and Keiji Inafune even said that that was the way he always wanted Mega Man to look. So I don’t see any problems with simply blowing up the sprites a little.
im almost anticipating those games more than the retail games. some big name games imo in there. i dont know if the xbl arcade will ever compete with the virtual console if nintendo does it right, but it looks like its going to finally be a good platform on its own.
That game Castle Crashers looks awesome, I’, so excited for it.
CASTLE CRASHERS is going to be the most fun ive had with a sidescroller ever. AS long as they dont remove online play like mad tracks ill be happy. You guys know that totem ball game uses the live vision camera for things like the eye toy??
