Pac-man out in the open
Sticking tight to the Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday schedule we witness yet more proof today of Microsoft’s new punctual approach: if you head over to your 360’s Marketplace you will find Pac-Man available for download as promised.
The 1979 arcade classic from Namco and Midway weighs in at 15.20MB, and has a trial version available as usual. The full version will set you back 400MP as usual with retro games.
If you’ve never heard of the game, have a look at the Wikipedia entry. Want to be a real pro in this game? Then read through the Pac-Man Guide listing all the patterns and strategies.

This isn’t bad actually, but it’s not worth getting because of all the internet versions that are free.

capcom needs to download geometry wars and use some real HD effects/gfx and use a “retro” option at the menu for the old fans.

It’s the Ridge Racer 6 version. Not much to see, but funnier than RR6.

Just dl the full game,brings back good times, and i totally forgot how addictive it is. Its well worth the 400mp and in the midst of a shortage of releases this summer its great to play an old classic

down my way, an extra value mcdonalds meal would cost me £3.19, and that would probably give me more satisfaction than this. Don’t get me wrong, i’m sure it’s fun for some people - just not my kind of game

They couldn’t have put up a worst version if they tried. It should have been revamped into a modern form. It’s one of those games where you can pretty much live without ever playing it….

Shut up with that MAME stuff. It may be free, but so are most movies out there if you know where to look. So are 360 games. That doesn’t mean they should be free. If you don’t want to spend the $5, fine, but stop bitching about it.

Pacman never learned Hadouken, or tiger uppercut, so don’t worry too much. Although I heard that he now does the sonic spin move, but that one could be a rumor>!

So, what about the new Rockstar Mexico game, you know, Rape the Goat, it’s an open ENDED, and backwards compatable game that features real time, bump mapped cel shaded goat rape, or interspecies relationship, for the ps3 and for real action play it on the WII

Getting back to pac-man.. the control isnt bad, but its not great either. Once again, they’ve failed to include a 2 player mode from the original. I dunno, maybe they dont think people play 2 player anymore.

I think it’s about time Xbox Live arcade had a game for download with at least xbox360 graphics/visuals. So it’ll probably be a 650mb download, but worth it. Im getting the feeling now that live arcade is nothing more than a money grabbing opportunity for developers who put up cheap nasty crap that none of us wanted years ago.
