‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims have reported that after Microsoft’s announcement that both PES6 and FIFA 07 would be exclusive for the next twelve months, Konami legend and Pro Evolution Soccer creator Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka has labelled claims of a deal of that type ‘misleading’.

Speaking with Winning Eleven producer/creator Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka earlier today, we learned that Microsoft made claims that were untrue. “The presentation was misleading,” he told us. “We never said exclusive for one year on the next-gen platforms. We said this year. We were agreed that it was this year.”

According to Takatsuka, Microsoft’s claims have caused some issues for Konami (with Sony, no doubt), and he definitely wants to set the record straight. Winning Eleven is exclusive to the 360 for this year, but it’s likely a case of necessesity (the PS3 game, which he confirmed is being worked on, isn’t far enough along in development) rather than some major exclusivity deal with Microsoft. The PS3 version could ship as early as next spring, he admitted, though no timeframe has been set yet. The only thing certain is that it will absolutely not release before January 1, 2007.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft have mislead people during their press-conferences looking back to this years E3, with a few choice words Peter Moore managed to convince the entire games industry that GTA4 would be an Xbox exclusive, and in similar vein to this case it was left to the developers to explain the correct nature of any ‘deal’.

Microsoft are going to have be more careful in future because not only will this make fans of PES grumble, it can surely only have a detrimental effect on their relationships with the big developers, especially as Seabass seems to be finding the whole situation rather ‘fishy’… (Sorry, couldn’t resist!).

Pro Evolution Soccer should hitting our shelves in October.‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims newsvine:‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims furl:‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims reddit:‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims fark:‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims Y!:‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims gamegrep:‘Seabass’ rebuffs Microsoft’s PES6 exclusivity claims

Yeah Pro Evo, no longer need to buy a bloody EA FIFA every three weeks to keep up to date with the football games!

Xbox live could be used to update player and team stats and names etc. But it is more profitable, even for konami to release new games now and then.

Well, i am kindof used to microsoft lying: no hdd required to play games. Xbox 1 to have toy story like graphics. Xbox360 to be a full media center, etc.

That is why i try to focus on the games.
It is really pathetic that MS tries to lie about this exclusivity deals, because i was led to beleive that the xbox360 is doing great.
They would not need to lie about exclusivity and other shit when they are doing great.

… unless that is a lie too…

Hmm, better go owning soms noobs on xbl to releive my frustration :P

“Xbox 1 to have toy story like graphics”

sorry but thats what sony said about PS2

The Toy Story graphics was Sony with the PS2, and the 360 was NEVER a full media center. It was ALWAYS a Media Center extender.

If Microsoft lied, why did a head-chief at Konami announce the deal, and is quoted to have said until Summer 2007?

Link me.

i have also read that it was a big boss within Konami who quoted the deal until summer 2007.

I will try and find it now.

Cheers, would be interested to see it, I’ve only seen the MS announcement.

I’ll have a gander at Konami’s press release list.

Thats pretty much what I’ve posted.

In that He’s still denied that Next-gen PES has 360 exclusivity for 12months, when MS announced otherwise.

as for media center, watch the mtv special and they will pretend like the xbox is the media center itself.

anywaydoes it rally matter if its not an exclusive?

Im happy that it will be the only nextgen console to play pes6 so im happy.

Will this hurt Sony probably not but in the UK it may hurt them as we need our yearly fix of pes!!

“…PlayStation 3 version of the game was already being worked on, and would most likely be released in spring or summer of next year,”

Whats Summer next year? Oh yeah.. 12 month exclusivity!

The press release from Konami seems to be directed towards the people under the impression Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is completely exclusive to the 360 and the PS3 wont get it, but they will, just in Summer 2007 :P

If it comes out in spring, that isn’t anywhere near 12 months.

October next year? Then yes that would be.

Still to far gone to be much good if you want up to date player information.

Even though you need to edit the damn thing for most of the players anyway, at least they are in the right teams.

lol Peter Moore didnt mislead people, he specifically said exclusivity on episodic content and shipping the same day… now if it was “exclusive” as people keep saying he said he wouldnt have said “shipping the same day” it wouldnt have made sense… the issue is gaming blogs were in such a rush they heard the first 2 words and misprinted his statement… and before you knew it there were rebuttles and takebacks everywhere and everyone left it to peoples imagination that the big bad microsoft was lieing.

No “I” after “E” except after “C”.

Moore is just very smart, to get people talking on the stuff, he is hinting like GTA on total exclusiveness but actually what he says or does is not that, but people make it themselve that way I guess.

Still it’s a big blow again for Sony.
How much can they handle?

Well even if it ain’t exclusive it still has a time delay and things are racking up against the mighy Sony and it ain’t even here yet.
