Dead Rising sells over half a million copies.

You’ve read it right, that’s a copy every 5 seconds for the last two weeks. It’s now officially the best selling next generation title for a Japanese developer to date. Why did it become so successful? Capcom concentrated on creating titles for foreign markets in preparation for the next generation.

According to the press release, Capcom improved its marketing sales and business operations functions in North America and Dead Rising’s succes is supposedly attributable to these changes. Embracing the next generation development to yield high quality titles worldwide is their goal from now on. Analysts were already speculating about Playstation 3 exclusives like Devil May Cry 4 and Monster Hunter coming to the Xbox 360 due to Dead Rising’s success.

For us Europeans the game’s still over a week away (September 8th), and the unfortunate Japanese have to wait even longer until September 28th. This huge gap isn’t really next-gen Mr. Capcom.

The gap could of been alot longer, like waiting 6 months for 99Nights.

At least there’s a good reason for N3, translation.

And despite all that work the game was still utter crap.

I think that Saints Row has took some of DR’s shine.

Shhhh, don’t tell Nino…

yeah for a game with speach audio, the gap is actually nothing. the transelating process is what takes the longest and they are moving at great speeds

Yeah but the gap between EU and US is just too big.

I agree, considering the fact that they are the ones deciding to apply the region locking then they should be ready to release them at the same time, or remove the region lock (but they won’t because they know they can charge more in the UK than the US.

I’d have taken the English version on August 8th if I was allowed to do so. But some dorks put regionlocking on it.

Screw the French and the Germans if they want it localized, it’s not like many games are translated for Dutch people anyway, and if they were we wouldn’t buy it.

Yeah, know how you feel. Our American friends get the game, so why can’t us English? They don’t have to change anything except the PAL/NTSC crap.

N3 was not crap.
It got btw 31/40=8/10 in Famitsu japans biggest magazine.

It kick ass,and its embarssing how the west trash it.

I even saw reviews were they trash the level selection system and think it’s complicated.

YOU HAVE A BIG MARKER FOR EACH LEVEL ON A WORLDMAP AND YOU MOVE THE FUKKING CURSOR TO EACH PLACE WHERE THE LEVEL TAKE PLACAE,YOU HAVE TO BE RETARDED TO THINK ITS COMPLICATED.

Even my sisters daughter at age 7 could figure it out and think its simple in 1 sec.

Its embarssing to see how the whole west media always copy each other.

For ex gamespot’s Jeff gurstman said the game was short and easy, still he hasn’ät even come half way through it.
