Oh god here we go again.

What age are you?

Did you buy your own 360? If you did then you enacted a form of choice, you chose to buy the 360 at the birth of the consoles lifespan.

So by exercising your choice you got the newest thing on the market at the time.

So things change as time goes on, should I get pissed at Samsung and Comet for buying the new 46 inch HD-LCD the day it came on the market in the UK only to find the price has dropped by £450 in 6 months, no because I exercised my right to choice and I had it long before other people started buying it.

MS do not have to offer any exchange but judging by the customer service they give (It’s an American company and say what you like about the yanks but they know how to provide damn good customer service) on the 360 and what they have given in the past I would not be surprised if they gave the early adopters some sort of sweetner to get them onboard with this change, after all if everyone gets set up with HD and a Hard Drive it makes the differences between the two machines (PS3 & 360) a lot less and so with the headstart MS have it would make it a lot eaiser to win this round against Sony.

So to sum up, stop being a whiney little bitch.

(And before the PS3 gang start up, you cannot compare Sony to any of this because they have little or no knowledge whatsoever of the concept of customer service.)

instead of trading your 360 in them paying 100 to 150 for a new 1, just buy the hd dvd add on. if you dont want hd dvd dont. simple.

we have been fucked by Microsoft. They there wouldnt be games that NEED a hard drive. They did otherwise. They said they wouldnt make a HD-DVD player inside the XBOX360, they most likely will do otherwise.
They said no games would be released on HD-DVD. The future will proof otherwise.

surely they are laws to provent this type of thing (im pretty sure they are) as if it was possible to make a major change like this to the final specs then sony would have dont with the ps2 and the underpowered emotion engine cpu that was present from start to end of life. even if it was legally allowed then the change cant interfere with the primary function of the console (play games) so i think if you have a current xbox 360 then we will still be ok as games have to play on all the xbox 360 revisions not just the flava of the month version

If I hear that these rumors are confirmed, I might just take my machine back to the shop in Dec and say it’s overheated or disc drive isnt reading discs, to get a replacement that has another 12months warranty on it. THEN when the new machine appears, I’ll take it back as broken again - afterall they’re known for it!!

I think (read:hope) MS are sensible enough to realise that the 360 hasn’t been on the shelves for long, so they can’t expect people not to get angry if they offer no trade in. The PS2 to PStwo is acceptable since that was four years over (or more). I mention the DS/DS Lite thing in the post, and I’ll mention it again, because that worked well, and there were no outcries.

If they release the 360 with a built in HD-DVD they better offer me a trade in where i get the full purchase price discounted from the new one. i.e I paid £280 for the current premium 360, If the a HD-DVD version is released for £380 i’ll only pay £100 for the upgrade to the new system

Yeah thats if they sell every component seperately. However if its included all-in-one, then it definately won’t be as much as you get by adding it all up seperately, because that is no gain for anyone, since the whole point of a bundle (like buying in bulk) is to reduce the cost to consumers/buyers

I’ve spent so much money on my current xbox360 Im beginning to wish I aint bothered if a new super xbox360 is released!! There does need to be a trade in offer on this (hopefully) as the current machine in 2007 would be less than 18months old

250 gigabyte hard drive? if a 20 gig costs £69, a 250 one will costs a lot more, and an internal disk drive, thats rumoured to be £199. It’s going to be quite expensive.
