Xboxic now available on your 360
Have you ever wanted to catch up on any Xbox news, but then don’t bother because it’s downstairs and away from your 360? Well, if, like me, you felt this was a problem, your prayers have just been answered.
That’s right, it is now possible to view any web page that has RSS/XML feeds on your 360, viewable on that nice big new HDTV that you just bought. All you need is to simply download this software, and allow it to share with the 360, and you are ready to roll. I’ve had a quick play with it, and it comes pre-loaded with some feeds for everyone, including one for Xboxic, which is a great honour to be listed alongside some of the greats!
Audio files can also be streamed, so you now have no excuse not to listen to the Major’s podcasts when you are having a game of Poker. Especially as the the software is completely free.
XB Stream allows you to stream audio and text xml based feeds to your Xbox 360 video game console, delivering constantly refreshing and exciting content to your Xbox 360. Read about the latest news, rumors and gossip from your favorite websites, as well as listen to your favorite blogcast and podcast personalities while playing your favorite games all on your Xbox 360 video game console.

To run it, you do not need a Media Centre PC, it works just fine with XP, home or professional. However, Mac is not supported at this stage. There is a full list of everything the application is capable of over at the official website. Let everyone know how you get on with it in the comments section.

i am haveing trouble connecting to pc i downloaded windows media connect and it not working i got a apton XL mgd computer with media center is there anyone that can help me plzzzzzzz
Slow down, add some grammar, use real English, and then someone maybe with you shortly.
any help on how to do that
I don’t think you’ll need Windows Media Connect, since you have Media Center anyway.
when i got to set up the media center it says it cant detect my 360
I don’t think RSS feeds would benefit you if you can’t even manage to connect your 360 to your PC.
i dont care about the rrs feeds i just want help to set up my windows media center pc to my xbox 360 so i cant use the media center on my 360 my pictures videos and live tv
Your firewall might be blocking the 360 from communicating with your PC. Put your 360’s IP address (can be found in the system blade) into your allowed section of your firewall. This could solve your problem
Woooooooooooooow.
Sweetness!
Now that fixes the lack of RSS feeds
Thanks for posting a link to XB Stream. I appreciate you guys linking to my software. Hopefully you are finding the software to be a great app
If you have any suggestions/bugs please contact me at www.xbstream.com
Kinda cool, but since my TV for the 360 is also my second PC monitor its just handier to use it.
Nice though, would defiantly try it out if i didn’t have this setup
GREAT! I’ll try this as soon as my 3rd 360 gets back from repair.
sweet… all I need… xboxic and 360-Deals rss feeds baby!
Yeah, I’ll give that a go. Do we get to read all of The Glovner’s snidey comments on it too - or would that overload the software?
just read the wii is going to have a built in web browser
Can you give us any indication as to when or if a Mac version will be coming. As many of us Ozz’s are Apple/Xbox360 users, and find the Apple and Xbox360 a GREAT combination with little or few, if any, issues streaming tunes or pic est. So this would be a godsend . . Any idea wouldbe welcomed as to when it could be coming. I know HEAPS that would download it in a snap.Is it donation-ware, shareware etc btw ??
Not good at all I’m affraid. Much rather go to each website and look my self.
Have you seen Major’s update?
Turns out that this application downloads something on the order of the 30-previous shows of the default podcasts upon install. This is not a good use of bandwidth and is killing some of the podcasters out there, since many folks won’t listen to the older shows. I have contacted the author and asked him to change the way the application works. Until this is fixed, I can not recommend you install this application and have removed the link.
Kind of glad I didn’t bother with that straight away…
Version 1.1 now fixes the issue that was pulling massive downloads from podcasts websites. The program will only download the most recent podcast (1 audio file) only.
Regarding a MAC version, it is unlikely I personally will ever release a MAC version, if anyone develops for the MAC and would like to ‘port’ the program over they can contact me at pg4@xbstream.com and I’ll assist.
