We’ve known for a while that Small Arms was going to be the best thing, ever - well, one of the best things ever. (We still have Castle Crashers.) Now, however, we’ve got new video and a 1UP preview to prove that it’s going to be one of the best things ever. Good bits from the preview and the video after the jump!

The left stick, as always, is used for moving your character, while the right stick is used to aim your weapon in a 360-degree circle. The triggers are used for your weapon while the bumpers are used to jump, making it entirely possible to play the game without touching the face buttons. However, special moves like dash and melee are mapped to those buttons, so you’ll need to get pretty quick on the Xbox 360 controller (like you aren’t already?) to take full advantage of the combat system.

The game has somehow managed to be squeezed into the 50-meg arcade limit, and it runs at 60 fps. Watch the video; that’s a fast game, and take note of the sniper rifle. Thanks to Live play, and downloadable content, it’ll be a while before we run out of things to do. Expect it this fall.
