Guitar Hero head bangs its way to multiple formats

The Playstation 2 is a console that has sold well, even in recent times due to a wide range of games that are easy to pick up and play. These games tend to have funky peripherals required to play them, such as the Eye Toy or the Guitar controller from the cult smash Guitar Hero. Microsoft and other companies have managed to snatch Guitar Hero away from Sony, as it has been announced the game will be coming to multiple formats including the Xbox 360 in Spring 2007, although the specific 360 release has yet to be confirmed by Activision as of this moment. Still now that Activision have formally announced they are bringing the title over to multiple formats it would seem almost stupid for them to ignore the 360 at this point.

This is great news for games fans who may have sold their PS2 years ago for various reasons or those who have bought a 360 or a Gamecube and see no reason to hop back to Sony for one title, but still wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Guitar Hero has been a real hit for Activision and Sony, so now it is finding a new home across many systems Sony may be regretting not tying this wild stallion down with some sort of exclusive deal. This could also mean we could see more games that require peripherals heading to the 360 such as lightgun games and more which would frankly be “Awesome”, and “Excellent”. I’ll stop the Bill and Ted references now.

This story continues to get more interesting by the day, but we feel Activision knows there is plenty of money in letting 360 owners get their rock on.

Thats very odd. I just played this game for the first time yesterday at Best Buy, and I was hooked. I was really hoping it would come out for xbox or the 360. This is a definate buy.

i only hope they come out with a controller converter so i can use my 2 PS2 guitars on the 360 ;)

because I am good at button mashing

I have one. I’m not particularly fantastic at it, also, it isn’t a video game. TRIGGER M4N’s right :P

There is actually already a cordless guitar on the market, I am a guitar hero freak and its really the only game i play out of my huge libray of ps2 titles (upwards of 80 titles). I have yet to try it but i hear its decent. Link : http://www.ebgames.com/pr...t.asp?product%5Fid=802470

And to those that thing a real guitar is better, I happen to own one of those myself and try and play it often but the nice thing about guitar hero is being able to talk to your friends and compare your skills as well as do multiplayer battles something that you can’t really do with a real guitar (especially if they down own or know how to play one).

I can talk to my friends and compare my real skills on guitar to my friends… socialising is fun!

And you can have ‘multiplayer battles’ with guitars too, heard of guitar duels, or bands with more than one guitarist, whats that, CO-OP!? yeah…

I can play classical and electric guitar to quite a high level(still room for improvements!), so I think i’ll pass on this.

Yup.

I play the bass and can’t think why this would be fun, you have set riffs once they are done where is the room for improvisation? Boring and limited is what this is.

Buy an instrument and learn to play, far more satisfying.

Light Guns + House of the Dead 1,2,3, and 4 would make my day.

Well part of trj156’s request is there - HOD3 is Back Compat, and if you beat it you unlock HOD2.

The lightgun, and parts 1 and 4… well, that’s up to Sega and MS I guess.

Wireless lightgun?

Quick, we need to write to MS NOW!

Cool, throw in some PANTERA-SLIPKNOT-MEGADETH and I’ll buy it!!!!;[

pantera is in it, cowboys from hell is one of the harder songs near the end.

Shame pantera are shit (look at how I don’t even think they deserve a capital letter at the start of their name, they are that unimportant.)
