Import Tuner Challenge racing in at $29.99?
According to Bestbuy, Import Tuner Challenge will be retailing at $29.99 in the US, a bargain when full priced games retail in the region of $60. But, after searching around for some confirmation, all is not well.
It seems that Bestbuy are the only ones offering this as a budget title. Gamestop still has it listed as $59.99, and play.com (for the UK) still have it as the usual RRP. There are certainly no offers available, so that isn’t the reason. Is it just a simple miss-print like Dell did?
It could of course be that price, but it seems strange that no other retailers have changed their page. One reason might be the developer Genki has no faith in it selling well, so immediately come in with a lower price. Alternatively, they might be trying to do what Rockstar did with Table Tennis. By releasing it at a lower price, Rockstar arguably sold far more of the game than they perhaps would have had it been at the usual prices.
Either way, you won’t have to wait much longer, as the game is released on the 29th of September in the US, and the 16th of October in Europe. It will certainly be interesting to see, and could perhaps pave the way for more developers to offer it at a lower price, should the game zoom off the shelves.
Big thanks to firebranded for informing us.

I dont think I’ve heard of this game, but for the price, I’ll have to look it up.
Apologies, I was meant to include a link to the Wiki. It’s there now

I wont be expecting to see the same savings in the UK, look at test drive unlimited, its retailing at $39.99 in the US and £39.99 in the UK
Yup because in the world of consoles $ = £
