FromSoftware, the developers behind Chromehounds which is another mech shooter, will now bring Armored Core 4 to American gamers in spring 2007. It was previously rumoured that this title was only to be released on the Playstation 3, but this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

The Japanese release dates for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the game are still at the end of this year when the PS3 launches. Information about a possible European release remains in the dark, however previous installments in the series were released in Europe so there remains hope.

Armored Core games are third-person shooters, in which the player pilots a large mech called an Armored Core, or AC for short. The player builds their AC from parts which can be bought from a shop.

Typically, in each game, the player is a ‘Raven’, a member of a mercenary organization, and is hired by corporations to do various missions.
