Metal Slug comes to the Xbox Live Arcade!
This is something we have all said should happen for a long time, and once again it seems Microsoft and their partners have answered our prayers. Rejoyce all ye faithful, Metal Slug heads to the Arcade!
This is fanspastic news. (Yes, we did make that word up.) Many of us here on the Xboxic crew love Metal Slug so its heralded return to form with an Arcade launch is just amazingly nice. Hopefully we might even see some Xbox Live co-op, but SNK have not confirmed which Metal Slug there are bringing over. All bets seem to be placed on Metal Slug 1, which is reported by many to be the best of the series. There is no release date as of yet but 1up.com guesses TBA 2007, which makes sense.
If a classic like Metal Slug is making it over, what else can we expect to hit the Arcade? We personally wouldn’t mind some Cyborg Justice or some E-SWAT SEGA, if your reading this.

I agree 300%, I remember playing this on a Neo Geo emulator and loving the pants off it.
I can’t imagine it coming any time soon though, particularly as the pressure will be on to get co-op working.
This, to me, is the ‘Gears of War’ for Xbox Live Arcade.

Only depressing thing is I just bought M.Slug 4&5 and M.Slug 3 for the regular Xbox at a great price about 4 months ago. Also great to hear they are bringing Alien Hominid but I bought that game about 6 months ago for the Cube. Oh well.

Well, I’m pleased for all the people who haven’t played it before. I think it’ll go down a storm on XBLA.
I won’t be buying it unless it’s a new version. I’ve played the Metal Slugs to death on mame and the xbox already. No incentive for me to buy it again unless there’s something new in the mix.
Lets just hope for online co-op modes.
This game is at my school, like a coin-arcade mahine, and it’s bloody crap. Rather play the 20p pinball next to it.
I hope they release all the sequels too. This is my idea of how to spend points.
