X06: Doom on the Xbox Live Arcade…NOW.
Wow, that was a crazy hour listening over the net to Peter Moore in Spain. Plenty of what happened there has already been reported on, but one rather cool thing did happen. Doom is on the Xbox Live Arcade!
Not only that, but it’s up RIGHT now and has full online deathmatch and Co-Op modes, sadly lacking from the Doom 3 Xbox Limited Edition version of Doom, so this version now officially kicks buttock. It costs 800MP which is a little pricey, but still no more than other solid Arcade titles have been before. And 4 player Live Co-Op is just awesome.
X06 is turning out to be bigger and better than E3 so far. What next MS, Dark Forces? Duke Nukem? Please Peter Moore, don’t hold out on us. Anyway, stop reading this and go download the daddy of all modern FPS games.

I wish Duke Nukem and Quake1 , but I think both are too big. =( I loved Duke on TEN
Who cares, give me DEMOS!
or marathon, DOOM blah.
wish list:
wolfenstein 3d…’nuf said
lol quote from http://www.3drealms.com/wolf3d/ about wolfenstein 3d
“Due to the game content, this game may not be ordered by residents of Germany.”
They have done a great job with the control. When this was given away with Doom 3, the control was way too sensitive and even though this is very blocky, there has been slight improvement over the Doom 3 version. It’s a shame that this version has the horrible music that came with the Doom 3 version, but at least this time it can be turned off. The best atmosphere was on the PS1 version, but after playing this origianl the new 5.1 sound helps to bring some of that atmoshere back when you hear the shooting and growls from all around.
Overall, I am happy with this (already bought the full version). looking forward to playing coop with my mates and brothers, just like we used to when we first played it on a PS1.
Now, I have to second the Duke Nukem shout, especially if they put the mapmaker with it like they had on the PC.
I’ve downloaded it, and paid for it… It’s really worth paying for! it’s much fun, but hard in the beginning…
p.s. This whole post is about DOOM
Greetings Glenn
It is so classic. You said “hard in the beginning…” Did you never play the original?
chick chick BOOM chick chick BOOM love it
Bought the trial and downloaded the full version immediately afterwards. I already love the soundtrack
Er, that should read “downloaded the trial and bought the full version afterwards.” Anyway… fun game.
They just copied it to xbox. Why should I pay for that 800MP? I would pay that if it had smooth textures and wide screen support. I can just go to any site and download it for free for PC.
Now this is more like it. Live arcade needs more of this type of game. I would like to see other classic PC games On the marketplace like Unreal 1, Half Life 1, Quake 1, System Shock 1 and 2 etc. They would probably by quite big downloads but they would use less space than the average 360 demo
It’s just ONE level and you can do it in 15 seconds… this has to be the worst demo ever… at least all those years ago on the pc they gave you the entire first episode…
