Xboxic expands its reign!

It only seems yesterday that I registered the domain xboxic.com, aiming to provide something to people I had been missing up until that day: a thorough and complete news source for everything related to Microsoft’s Xbox consoles, presented with the light and accessible writing style of popular blogs like Joystiq. I did not have any long term plans except possibly hoping someone would notice what I was doing.

ICGamersA mere 5 months later we broke the milestone of 1 million pageviews in May this year, we had started doing regular reviews and we were being linked from other news sites on a daily basis. Okay, someone noticed what we were doing it seems. Today October 1st we’re more or less 9 months online, we migrated to our own dedicated heavyweight server, we broke the 2 million pageviews big time last month, and we have a 14 man crew busy keeping all you guys out there informed about everything happening in the world of Xbox in the familiar style you know from us. Definitely someone noticed what we were doing.

Today it’s time for the next step in our WDP: I present you the ICGamers network, consisting of Xboxic, Playstatic and Nintendic, aggregated under the common ICGamers site. We’ve been running the new sites in secret for a while now, and we’re confident that our coverage of Nintendo and Playstation news will be on the same level as our Xbox news.

Although we’ve done quite some testing it’s obviously possible that some things go wrong: don’t hesitate to drop us a line in our feedback forum if it does and we’ll fix it as soon as possible. Expect more changes in the future concerning forum and Wiki, although we’re in no hurry there. Meanwhile, thanks all for bringing us where we are today, and we hope to continue writing for you for a long time to come!

Hooray…a place where the PS3 yobs can slag off the xbox. Hail Playstatic NOT!!!

Actually, at the moment it’s run by the same guys who’re running Xboxic. We should hire some PS3 fanboys though. Where’s Nino?

Hi. Have you seen my new forum avatar? It rules.

Yeah, I’ve been meaning to give you a thumbs-up on that. I’m going to take to calling you a giant enemy crab from now on.

Great that you guys are expanding! I prefer Wiiic over Nintendic, though.

But then we’d be leaving out the DS and we don’t want to leave out my favorite handheld ever :)

Yuk, a Playstation website, that’s wrong, so wrong.

Some things shouldn’t be done. Sometimes expension is not the right thing, but focussing on one strong ‘core-business’… This is like running over to the other side in a war ;)

Damn Xboxic, why I ask why? haha

We aim to focus on 3 cores with 3 teams, we won’t let the sister sites compromise the quality of Xboxic.

put the morons in the playstation section.

Ah well 360 will beat the thing up anyway, it’s rumoured Sony can’t get the online part up at launch. That’ll kill it

And Xboxic sounds good, the rest doesn’t gnegne

put the morons in the playstation section.

So who was going to put the most of their effort into that, again?

Xboxic is definitely one of my favourite sites :)

Congrats, guys. This is just another step forward to becoming the ultimate gaming news enterprise.

I like it very much that uve also made a nintendic, but for me as ANTI sony person (ever since I’ve bought the ps2) I dont like the playstatic website… :( all the news I want to here about PS3 is bad things :P

Greetings Glenn

Then don’t visit it and bookmark the other 2 :P

Nintendic sounds like a porn i once saw wait a min. there was a plummer he had a mustache but lets not get into that. lmao

Peach’s peaches and Mario’s big green pipe.

OK, I like it :) Atleast the PS3 people now have a home page that they can use as much me. (Is that even possible?)

Actually, this isn’t the big announcement that Nino was hyping. We meant to say that IBM started manufacturing the Cell processor for the PS3.

:+

Congrats! It’d be cool if you’d include an area on the left side on all sites with headlines from the other sites… Someting like: “Meanwhile on xxxxxx:”

Checked www.icgamers.com yet? ;)

Oh jesus, Curry. I’m am really sorry, but that Pink/red/random other girl colour, has to be changed.

Pastel’s all the rage these days! Would fit your handbag! :P

Comment by Mike NL on 2006-10-02 14:58:37 | Reply

Nintendic, Nintendoic, Wiiic — they all sound bad. lol.

We took the worst of evils I hope :P

Congrats! I always knew Xboxic would take over as the premier source for cutting edge news on any system.

Um, so where is the Wii60ic.com site? :-D

Purple + green = ugly. :(

Comment by The_Glovner on 2006-10-02 11:30:42 | Reply

But where do I get my flame fix from if all the potential targets are sitting in their own site? :(

That’s why we have direct links between all the sites ;) And the forum is and will remain cross-site!

Comment by The_Glovner on 2006-10-02 13:19:34 | Reply

Woo Hoo!

FLAME ON!

So what you are saying is if I need my flame fix can just go visiting? I can do that.

You can still flame as much as you want. If we tollerate it.

Well I just took a little trip across, had a little read added a few posts (to promote discussion, nothing more).

Nice to see that Playstic has as much moaning whiney little shits as Xboxic has going on about nothing in particular.

It just wouldn’t be the same without them would it? :D
