Halo 3 news EXPLOSION in next month’s EGM
We’ll soon be getting some good concrete information on Bungie’s Halo 3 in next month’s edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly. 1up.com confirms this with a scan from the mag. We’ve got the picture after the jump.
I’m not really into drooling over the news that Frankie sometimes puts out at the Bungie website. I don’t get too excited over a new bush that looks amazing, or a new rock that was placed in the map this week. The news is stupidly sensitive information, like they’re holding secrets for national security. Anyway, I do like to read news about Halo when it’s something worth reading, or when it’s something that will be affecting gameplay in a big way. It seems that EGM might have this ‘big’ chunk of news worth a gander.
Although X06 brought official word on the long-rumored Halo Wars, Bungie remained silent on Halo 3. The weekly updates on the studio’s websites assures fans work continues on the sci-fi sequel, but Frankie’s bits and pieces aren’t enough for us, which is why Electronic Gaming Monthly decided to hold a shotgun to everyone at Bungie until they final spilled the beans.
That doesn’t sound too legal.

I LOVE halo but bungie has got to stop! Their super seceret policy on their halo projects is startin to look like arrogance. Like their gaurding the secret to life or something (though I personaly think Halo 3 will be as great) Regardless of all the hype its still just a game…therefore tangible information on the game should be released at regular intervals during its developement. But hey, that’s the way it is…lookin forward to EGM! Death to the SDF!!!

atleast bungie games arent as bad as mgs… i mean all that frigging MGS cinematic crap to make up hype for a game thats only about on par with splinter cell and rainbow six… i mean jesus they made it sound like it was going to crush the 360… even assassin’s creed looks better and atleast the color scheme of gameplay for AC doesnt give me a migraine looking at it…
Gotta love crappy animations and barrels that stop on a dime… ahhh i feel like im back in mgs3 ugh… i mean really they said the original cinematics were gameplay engine… but if you look at the latest gameplay footage from tgs, their are textures that are so flat they look like they are from the ps2.. especially about 3 minutes in when hes rolling around outside, at that point i just stopped watching…
And then just to make it so people think its more exciting than it is they mix the cinematic with gameplay to confuse things a bit….
Atleast bungie showed real ingame cinematic from the real engine with real materials… i mean crap after e3 they walked around the level in a private showing… uggh sad
HALO3 + BioShock + AC + GeoW + Army of Two + Mass Effect… ya i think we’re pretty well off… im definitly picking up nov EGM… if they sell that one normally sincei live in the caribbean they are always out of them arggg.
I actually prefer MGS to Halo, mainly because of the art style, the setting, the story and the cinematic crap. I’m just 2 hours into MGS2 but I like it more than all my singleplayer experiences with Halo so far. But then again, I can see why people play Halo and I’ll probably pick up Halo 3 for the multiplayer.
well i never said halo was the best single player, but their are better single player games … i mean if voice acting and cutsceneish stuff is what people like… then actually mass effect does it in realtime without and cinematic fmv footage

Well, you can compare how much you enjoy one game to another. Case in point: I enjoy Project Gotham Racing 3 more than I enjoy Halo 2. However, I can’t say one’s better than another, because it’s entirely subjective; also they’re apples and oranges.
A mom and her kid asked me if I worked in the Gamestop; I don’t, but I helped them anyway, and they asked me a few things about Battle for Middle Earth II on the PC. The 360 demo bored me (and I told them this) but the kid was going on and on about Generals (Command & Conquer methinks) and hey, he walked away with BFME2 on the PC a happy camper. Who am I to tell him it sucks?

I just traded in Halo 2 because it’s so boring. I hope Halo 3 is as much fun as Halo 1 but with online multiplayer.
LOL the comparison of MGS to HALO was not based on the gameplay it was based on the HYPE … and the fact someone said they were tired of all bungies halo 2 secretive retoric…
And my reply was that it doesnt make sense to be upset at bungie being super secret when on the opposite front you have MGS being developed and having massive marketing and super long movies of CGI released… and then we see the gameplay and its crap in comparison to the CGI (killzone anyone?)
I’d rather bungie keep it secret and just let dribs and drabs out and work on it in their basements for a year or 2 and release a great looking game, than try to dazzle the world with a bunch of cinematics that dont represent gameplay in the least.
