And it could be illegal! Gametrailers.com received this hilarious, surreal even, phonecall from a woman who saw the Castle Crashers gameplay footage, that GT.com filmed at PAX2006, and for some weird reason thought it was racist. GT.com was friendly enough to upload the phone call for some comic relief. Youtube after the jump.
I’m not even going to tell you why this woman is completely out of her mind. Castle Crashers is set for a release on the Xbox Live Arcade in early 2007. Long live 2D!

In general, a pretty suprising response from you lot. I had seen a small screenshot before and hadn’t thought anything. But seeing as it has offended her, it is pretty obvious to see why.

She sounds genuine enough to me, but for all I know she did write of to newspapers etc, but that’s not the way I heard about it. GameTrailers didn’t respect here privacy or her views, which is especially sad in this case.
It’s their job to present us the videos of games, hence the gametrailers.com domain name. If one crack-head woman complains, why should they pull the video? Infact, I find ‘Destroy All Humans’ racist, as it’s telling you to kill all humans, I’ll try and get that pulled later. And for the privacy bit, I think privacy went out the window ever since the Internet was made.

Actually I didn’t especially mean that they should pull the video, if the game is going to be released, what good would that do. I was just going on the assumption they didn’t ask before they put her phone call up or contact her with info about the game to assuage her fears.
It’s obviously funny and I assume it’s there to be laughed at. Gametrailers have news articles, they could’ve printed here concerns, contacted the developers, whatever, they didn’t have to treat her like a joke.
That’s just the thing, that complaint was a joke. If she is too thick to understand the game is not racist she deserves no respect.

In Gametrailers defense, they have edited the PAX video to show the most offensive part (2.40 when the black things start frigging well jumping out of trees and bushes and attacking you with sticks) within the call length.
