Xbox 360 Games Tour coming to the UK!
It may be generally wet, windy and miserable in the UK but the kind folks at Microsoft are doing their very best to put a smile on our faces. By bringing the Xbox 360 tour to the UK they offer gamers a chance to play the latest Xbox 360 games and get a hands on preview of some of the latest accessories.

Here is the press release issued by Microsoft:
If you’re fanatical about gaming then start flexing your thumbs; the Xbox 360™ Games Tour is coming to town. Gamers across six UK cities will get the first chance to test the amazing range of killer titles and latest accessories on Xbox 360, the next generation gaming and entertainment console from Microsoft®. Up first is Manchester followed by Newcastle, Birmingham, Sheffield, Southampton and finishing up in London.
The line up of ‘must have’ games out for Christmas includes “Gears of War®â€* – the enthralling third-person tactical action game and “Viva Piñata™†- a window to another world where players of all ages can create a fantastical island to care for different species of Piñata animals. Go back to the old school with the latest games from Xbox Live® Arcade including Marble Blast Ultra and Street Fighter® II and discover the latest games from over 100 next generation games on Xbox 360.
Gamers will also get the chance to test the latest new range of accessories for the Xbox 360, including the Xbox 360 wireless headset, Wireless Racing Wheel and the brand new Xbox Live Vision video camera which launched earlier this month. Xbox Live Vision lets you customise your gamer picture, send photo messages, and video chat with friends and family over Xbox Live.
The 360 Games Tour begins at The Trafford Centre in Manchester before heading to Newcastle’s Metro Centre. It stops off next at Birmingham’s Bullring, followed by the Meadowhall Centre in Sheffield, before making its way south to Southampton’s West Quays. The tour culminates at the Lakeside shopping centre in London on the 2nd and 3rd of December.
The Manchester event is open to the general public from the following times;
• Friday 10am - 10pm
• Sat 10am – 8pm
• Sunday 12pm - 6pm
• Monday 10am - 10pm

Yuh I might be at the Sheffield one on the 11th
Nice that their UK tour covers only england. They really had their thinking caps on when they named this extravaganza.
I second that. It’s an English tour.
Never been a UK tour in its life.
So first they don’t include the UK first, then when they do they still manage to exclude people in the UK.
Why is it Americans think that England is the UK anyway? Ooops I forgot it because they have no appreciation of anything outside of the US of A.
Please do not think that all Americans are that shallow. I’m sure Microsoft has a reason for touring where they are. The fact that you judge Americans on what one company is doing shows that you have no appreciation.
We’re not.
90% of the time, in American media whether it be tv, cinema, etc, in their press, even the average man on the street, they will call the UK “England”
I was in Arizona recently, wearing my kilt, and got asked, variously, if I was from Sweden, Russia and, at one point, France.
There were people who didn’t even know where Scotland was. Which saddened me greatly.
Point taken, there are plenty of idiots here that’s for sure. I’m sure your country has there share.
Oh, undoubtedly. Was just letting you know I’m judging by more than just this one event though
I don’t think all Americans are like that, just the majority. Based on experience not just on one company.
So you sir, can shut yer mooth.
Or what?
Or flies might get in.
/my granny
[13yr old american Xboxlive mode] Or i’ll find you and fuckin stab you man cos i’m fuckin crazy. I’ll shit on you then eat your whole fuckin family mutha fucka!!!!![/13yr old american Xboxlive mode]
My funniest XBL experience was on Pro Evo 5.
Was playing against this guy from London, and my username is Japanese (despite the fact I’m not) and for the entire game he was making racial slurs against me, thinking I couldn’t understand: things like “Chelsea rule you g**k bastard” and stuff like that.
I horsed him 3-0 (going on 10-0, frankly) and at the end of the game, in the middle of another barrage of racist slurry, I just said, calmly, “thanks for the game, mate.”
You could have heard a pin drop
Nice, You need help! Oh Number13 my granny said the same thing. LOL
I’m not sure it’s just the Americans (although they probably are the worst), I’ve heard many Europeans make the same mistake when visiting the UK. A Dutch colleague of mine visited our office in Aberdeen (Scotland) and proceeded to tell everyone how much he liked visiting England. He was very popular as you can imagine.
Oh i’m just playin, you guys don’t really do sarcasm either do you?
Mental eh? Its like calling an American a Canadian only 100x worse and we sound nothing like the English.
This always happens - anything from events like this to band tours. A “UK tour” most often means London, Manchester and Birmingham/Newcastle/Liverpool - which is baffling considering, how big, for example, Glasgow is in comparison to any of the cities on this ‘tour’ except London.
Constantly shafted if you don’t live in Englandshire.
your actually right in thinking that the americans think England is the UK and forget the 3 other countries.
Ive been to the USA a few times and several different cities. Take one example, our flags. They fly th union jack as the english flag, its almost impossible to find a St Georges cross. But they fly the Saltire (St andrews cross) for scotland. Its nice to see this, but its really infuriating when they refer to Britain as just really England
I think I’ll be attending the Birmingham event on November 5th
I’ll attend
I hope!
Are yous sure GoW isn’t playable at the Trafford Centre? I just went by and saw this poster in the window of the GAME store
http://s105.photobucket.c...age=&imgAnch=imgAnch1
seems strange the’ll advertise it at The T.C. but not let you play it
Is that anywhere near Leiceter? I have to travel to Birmingham to play them!
Bloody hell!!! they’re hitting southampton we usually get ignored down this way, might turn up to check the wheel and wireless headset.
Bah! i wouldn’t travel 80miles (London is the closest one to me) to test a few games, it would cost me the price of a game to travel and pay the ridiculous parking in London. I think i’ll save my money for a game. I feel sorry for the rest of the UK i.e.Wales, Ireland and Scotland it would cost them the price of 2 games or more to get the poxy events. Plus there will probaly be demo’s of said game’s on XBL and most decent game shops will let you test the wheel and camera if you really wanted to anyway.
RANT over sorry i’ll stop typing now
Southampton is West Quay not West Quays (I used to live there - no, not in the shopping centre).
It probably won’t be very good, and as it’s England, everything will get vandalised or stolen.
Probably if someone lost a game of Fifa the whole event will get trashed.
That’s just evil
Well you know, if they had an event in Scotland and someone lost at FIFA, then we would just get pissed up and have a party for the fact it was there in the first place to be lost.
I live in Cardiff and they can kiss my ass am i travelling across the border to attend one of these.
-Grumbles-
What about Wales??????????????
its small sucks and isnt quite england
… hmmm might go 2 london on although whats the point GoW will already be played by me
I’d go if there is actually some stuff that was nerw. But by that time GoW would already be out. So what’s on offer?
Rossko, make a trip to the Birmingham one, it’ll be almost 2 weeks before GoW comes out. I’m going to the Birmingham one on November 5th.
Nah, I can’t be bothered to travel 3 hours to play I get in a couple of weeks. Not worth it if nothing else is on offer in my opinion. If it were in a foreign country, I’d go because I’d take a holiday, but B’ham just isn’t the same!
Hey now! No need to bad mouth Birmingham. I do see your point though hehehe!
