Assassin’s Creed CE to be region free
According to the game’s Play-Asia listing, the collector’s edition for the PS3 exclusive title Assassin’s Creed, containing a 12” figure, can be played in any region.
We figured that the foot-tall figure would be usable in any region, but the game’s being region free is news to us. To make sure it wasn’t a goof in the listing, Xboxic put in an e-mail to the guys at Play-Asia and got the following response from their marketing manager:
It’s been confirmed to be region free :).

Does it come out worldwide on the same date, or is it a staggered release?
All we’ve got is March 07. Individual region dates will probably be cemented later.
Somehow I think there will be a Ubisoft press release denying it all.

Is there English audio in the game though? I don’t want to have Japanese audio or even Japanese subtitles I can’t turn off.
Well it’s developed by Ubisoft Canada so I would assume you wouldn’t have much trouble with any Japanese.
You could always have the same problem with French instead though and in my mind a far uglier language and people anyway. Bloody frogs.
