Pretty impressive list, nice to see MS addressing these problems but the most requested feature, DiVX support, is still missing in action. But hey, we’re getting auto downloading, WMV streaming, the option to switch off Live notifications while watching DVD movies and a whole bunch of other nifty little features in return. I’m also curious about the improved voice chat quality. We’ll do another update as soon as this thing goes live.
Thanks for submitting Koifim!

How about a fucking update for Texas hold ‘em so I don’t need to play fucking UNO SHITE!
i’d struggle to find 60-70 things that are actually new, alot of repeating features just with different ways of saying it (e.g. The HD-DVD addition is mentioned 3 times)
Still its a nice update.
Fingers crosses next time they’ll add divx/xvid and multi user chat.
Really? I can’t find anything repeating. HD-DVD is indeed mentioned several times, but that’s when listing the features implemented. Personally I prefer a well documented feature list like this, than one that would’ve said “HD-DVD enabled”.
ooh you’re off again…lol
i totally agree with you though, but World Series Poker is out on 10th November with video chat and digimask, much better than Texas For Sure

thats the full list from xbox.com
Beat you to it
Cool, seeing as how my PC’s sound is MIA , It’s be cool to watch videos on my 360 from my pc. Now if they could only stream podcasts, i’d be set.
Podcasts can be streamed already. Where have you been?
Fuck-a-doodledoo! What a list man.
“Set up automatic downloads of newly released Xbox Live Arcade trial games. ” WICKED
texas holdem updates has nothing to do with the dashboard upgrade thats a game upgrade thats needed lol
Am i missing something, wheres the support for guilds and clans that was supposed to be enabled in this realease?
Not to mention… ARGGG no xvid/divx
So will we now be able to stream media without the actual media center edition of windows? Or are we still going to have to wait for Vista to do that?
i think you’re able to stream wmv files from a normal windows OS or a removable drive, but the windows os needs windows meia player 11 i think (beta at least)
Just set up Windows Media Connect on XP/2000. If you already have it installed to view pictures and listen to music you’re set to stream WMV. Nice addition!
nope you need Windows Media Player 11 which is freely available it has the new updated media connect embedded in its options
cool. I was waiting for this
Windows Media 11, apperantly is for Vista!!! I just checked thier website to download it. And It comes up with Vista
i have windows media player beta on my media center edition
i have windows media player 11 on my windows XP so quit with that nonsense
yah i dont know what you’re talking about. I’ve used MP11 for like 2 months now. And you just go to mircosoft.com and it says try Windows Media Player 11 Beta 2 now!
Heres the link since you’re obviously having problems…
http://www.microsoft.com/...ia/player/11/default.aspx
great list, but i wouldnt of minded more then one person in a chat at a time, but over all no complants
wait, i have one complaint, i wanted to be able to fast foward threw music
Pissed off a bit, still no Divx.
It’s a bit shit that you can buy a dvd player for £20 that will play Xvid, but not on my £300 “Next Gen” game system.
kind of shit no group chat
There a couple of nice new features 1080p and HD-DVD. Overall though it isn’t that great an update. I don’t have an HD TV capable of displaying 1080p and am probably not getting the HD-DVD player (for a while at least), Blu-Ray may still win. Nice the option is there now though. As for the wmv streaming it’s too little too late. I have like 1 or 2 wmv’s on my comp. Most of my files are mp4, divx and avi. The 360 is more than capable of streaming these so why not. I am still going to have to use MCE with transcode until at least the new spring update. The rest of the features are all kind of trivial although will add to a better experience of user interface.
Hmm, I just LOVE the WMV streaming support!
I don’t mind decoding an AVI to WMV If I want to watch a movie with a friend once… It’s done in half an houre, and you can that way easily download it, decode it, and then just watch it on the telly
I LOVE IT!
(wich was pretty good already if you ask me)
All the other updates aren’t that important to me… Though it’s nice to see that they are improving overall Multiplayer online Gaming
No Divx/xvid support sucks, the most requested feature and they ignore it, why should i have to convert to some pussy format that no one uses ?, who the hell uses WMV for christs sake..
I agree!
Now that WMP11 supports WMV streaming, i wonder if someone could program a version of Transcode to work the same way? I wouldnt mind re-encoding all my video files, but it would be nice if this could be done for me on the fly…
i have a Samsung 32HD TV from play.com, will i be ab;e to play games in 1080p tomorrow then?
I think your TV’s resolution is 1366×768, so you shouldn’t be able to see a difference between 720p and 1080p.
only if the games are programmed to be displayed in 1080p… so far i think splinter cell DA is the only one.
Nah that SC: DA 1080p rumor was debunked unfortunately.
Why isn’t there a party chat?
I have to agree. Group chat should be there.
Will you be able to play .ts files from an external harddrive?
I swear, If the 360 started shit’n golden eggs, Some of you folks would still complain about it. lol
fuck ps3 we get 1080p also
can we play video from our video ipods now?…..that would be sweet!!!!!!
Actually I’m a bit disappointed…
Don’t get me wrong…1080p is great, so is WMV streaming from none MCE PC’s.
But all the other stuff is…I don’t know. Support for additional Hardware, they wanna milk my bank with. Great. I am really excited.
Where the f*** are useful things like DVD-Upscaling, Multi-User-Chat, Divx/Xvid support (c’mon MS, have the balls to support a popular format that is not made by yours truely), support for clans and guilds…..
Like I said the update is ok, some good things come with it. But it’s also missing a lot of thing. Let’s cross fingers for the spring update then
Upscaling is already in place over VGA, and with this update VGA upscale will be up to 1080p
How long takes it to install the “BIG FALL UPDATE” ?? And is there a Dutch Language in Settings,i hope it is
YES THANK YOU.
That sounds nice. I have no idea what it means, but it sounds nice.
The rest doesn’t bother me a whole lot other than faster blades, which is great, but I can’t wait to see how it looks. New visual UIs are always great.
Why haven’t they released a disk with all these upgrades for us non-live 360 owners ? ? ? ? Please answer that ?
simple. to get yoou ti sign up for L!VE
Tucky that may be true but we spent $400+ and would like to recieve these updates ! Please release a disk M$ .
when is this update going up? is it at midnight?
10am i heard, might just be 10am in UK
What about the “new content on marketplace” notification?? instead of having to browse the useless menustructure for new content everyday..
well its past 10am in japan.. hmm im on holiday sitting here 1pm aus time waiting to test out this new vga cable in 1080p on my dell 24″ hmmmmmm sorry, bored..
check http://www.timeanddate.co...in=0&sec=0&p1=234
The time it sais there for YOURE country, is the time it will be available
yeah and according the times it would have come out in japan and europe by now
but in australia its already almost 3pm on 31st and the americans would be going ot bed soon.. ah well its out when its out, no rush.
That’s not right, it states that in the Netherlands it will come out 11 AM, wich is in about 5 1/2 hour from now, dont screw up AM and PM
Greetings Glenn
anyone know if the Xbox 360 VGA cables will support 1366×768 ?
i cant find the info anywhere, cheers
I am so disappointed at the lack of group chat\clan grouping. I have faith we will get it soon. Cheers to MS for this nice update.
Nice list.
Only about 1 1/2 hour left before it’s here
really? looky like u were wrong.
I don’t understand why everybody is bitching about divx support. Just hook Your computer up to the telly, why go via the xbox to watch a movie?
because ppl find its easy to watch downloaded films and tv shows..heh rather then blame MS for not supporting the format maybe rippers should start encoding in WMV.. heh.
Maybe becouse not everyone can do that, for instance I can’t… I have a 10 year old 50HZ tv (big screen though) but I CAN’T Connect my computer, so I CANT watch movies on my television… This is For Me the only way…
(though I don’t really care that much for DivX and Xvid support… i’ll just convert the movies I wanna see… altough it would be easyer if it would just be able to use DivX / Xvid)
THE UPDATE IS OUT!
IF YOU DONT SEE IT, TRY STARTING A GAME AND YOU WILL GET THE UPDATE POPUP!!!
1080p is completely f’d over component. the output shows as 1080p on my projector yet it’s like a 720p window with a 1080p image not scaled to fit?
i lose like 1/2 the screen and it’s really huge. how’d they screw that up?
