No wireless Guitar Heroes guitar on 360

The Playstation 2 is getting a special wireless guitar to go along with the release of Guitar Hero II this week and while the Xbox 360 was the first console to come with wireless controllers out of the box, we won’t be seeing a 360 version of the wireless guitar. Red Octane’s Bryan Lam told eToychest that Microsoft currently doesn’t allow third parties to the proprietary wireless technology used for the Xbox 360.

Major Nelson playing Guitar Hero never gets old

Well, that’s a Microsoft issue,” commented Lam. “Their wireless technology is proprietary…so they aren’t allowing 3rd party manufacturers to make anything at the moment….so until they allow us to do so, we aren’t able to.

Cheer up kid, wireless controllers are cool but wireless guitars are for nu metal bands, so chances are that a wireless Guitar Hero 2 controller is equally lame.

Guitar Hero 2 hits stores in North America this week on PS2, some stores have already broken street date so chances are you’ll be able to pick up a copy right now. European Guitar Heroes can pick up their copy on November 24th. The Xbox 360 version is slated for a release next spring.

Any excuse to reprint that picture eh :D

Any excuse :D. Hell I’ll start using it in completely unrelated posts.

I’m sure MS will listen and hopefully before Spring 07 announce a wireless controller! Seems kinda stupid MS wouldnt when even the PS2 is getting one!
Ill properly still get the game anyway!

trust microsoft to be so self-centerd

2 words or maybe its 4… USB Dongle

Seriously, that’s a brilliant idea, try mailing RedOctane about it, I don’t see why it couldn’t be done.

If this is a deal killer for you, then you don’t desire to play the game’s greatness.

I’ll gladly sign up for downloadable songs at the price of having to play it wired. As if the first Guitar Hero was rendered unplayable because the guitar was wired.

Microsoft should let them make one

But yeah it’s also true that guitars use cables for real too.
