Major Nelson made us aware that the King Kong demo is finally available for download. But that’s not all, there are plenty of other downloads available. Hexic and Bejeweled get another themepack. Same goes for Fight Night Round 3, plus some picture packs. Crystal quest gets a whole load of new downloads: Animal Madness Sound Pack, Xtreme Scenario, Nano Graphics Pack, Sketch Graphics Pack and Super Synth Sounds Pack.

Acclaimed game creator Michel Ancel and the Montpellier studio have teamed with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson and visual-effects company Weta Ltd. to develop Peter Jackson’s King Kong The Official Game Of The Movie.

Capturing the imagination, vision, and emotion of this epic, you will delve deeper into the film, playing as both Jack Driscoll and the great Kong himself. Experiencing these alternative viewpoints immerses you into the action and lets you truly feel the tension of the adventure.

Update: We’re getting complaints about the V-Rex level of the demo. Our good friend and fellow newsposter Etalien tested it and it just doesn’t seems to work. When you start up the demo, you can’t trigger anything, just nothing happens, it looks like some SFX and sounds are missing too. We also had some crashes in the other level of the demo, called ‘Fight’, were you’re supposed to play as Kong.

Update: Initial reports suggested the demo was a crashy piece of junk, and upon further investigation the demo indeed seems to lock up for many players or not allow them to get to certain parts of the demo. Shame.
