Worms HD for XBLA done, waiting on MS to be released
ILoveXbla.com found some interesting news on Team17 fansite Dream17 concerning a rumored Xbox Live Arcade port of good old Worms. Apparently the guy that runs Dream17 bumped into Worms producer Martyn Brown during the 2006 London Games Festival back in October and Brown told him that “Worms HD is now complete, and it’s just a matter of Microsoft releasing it”. Bombs away!

It remains a mystery why MS hasn’t said anything about Worms HD but it could be that they plan on doing a surprise release like they did with the Xbox Live Arcade release of Doom during X06. As far as we know there aren’t any big events planned for the remainder of 2006 besides the Wii and PS3 launch, Christmas and the Xbox 360’s first birthday. All we know for now is that Worms is awesome and that it makes perfect sense to port it over to the Arcade.

Oh, and added to that, one of the few that won’t suffer from lag problems, because it’s a tactical game, so no more SFII type grinding to a halt! Yay!

Yes! They ruined Worms when they went 3D. I’d love the older ones like Worms World Party to play online. Now if they would just release a 2D Bomberman on Live.
I liked Worms 3D.
I used to work in the same office as the Sega tech support team in Glasgow (pan-European - UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany) and they had an XBox and a copy of Worms 3D about three months before it came out, and the four-player deathmatchs became the most addictive thing in the world.

For 800ms points i wud buy this
yeah I think 800 MS points is the sweet spot for arcade games like this with retro games without much change @ a 400 MS points spot and then sick ass games like RoboBlitz (and not Bankshot Billiards) at 1200 MS points.
But then, I would class worms as a classic title, so 400 points would be a nicer pricing point.

Best PC game hands down. This is a graceful reminder of how awesome 2D was. W3D never held a candle to Worms2. I hope the XBLA one has the weapons editor from Worms2 (not armageddon or world party). That would be worth 1200 points right there!

It would have to be Live MP or they are very stupid, and i would of thought full screen as it’s a left/right scrolling game it would be easily implemented. Damn this will eat up hours and hours of my time if it’s done right.
i really really hope its the first worms, that was easily the best. And when can we expect Roboblitz?? that game is gonna be great
