Snowboard legend Shaun White contracted by Ubisoft
After Microsoft’s Amped 3 and the SSX series, a new competitor from Ubisoft will be hitting the snow in 2007.
White has just won a gold medal on the 2006 winter Olympics, won 6 gold medals on the X-Games. With this stats he should be able to influence the people from Ubi enough to make a kick ass game.
“I’m stoked to be working with Ubisoft to develop a video game that captures the thrill of snowboarding like no game has done before,” White said. “I’m a huge fan of Ubisoft games like Prince of Persia, so I’m excited to be able to combine what I love about snowboarding and gaming into an experience for everyone to enjoy.”
I hop this game is done by the same team as Prince of Persia. I’m really looking forward to it anyhow, I’m a sucker for extreme sports games.
Amped 3 didn’t sell very well, so i don’t really understand Ubisoft’s decision. Maybe they just think that a ‘big name’ will sell, even though i never heard of the guy.
Yeah Backyard Skateboarding didnt sell very well either, wonder why theyre making Tony Hawks Downhill Jam
Tony Hawk is spent. It has been since Tony Hawk 3. In my opinion.
Amped 3 suffered in sales because lack of competitive xbox live play, instead they just have leaderboards. Another casulty of launch rush, however Amped 3 is a awesome game. One of the better launch titles and is still sitting under the radar.
amped 3 is pretty bad…no online play–just you and a gorgeous mountain, with horrible controls..the SSX controls kill this game.
Wow.. this decision is like 6 years too late. Extreme sports are played out. What’s next? A scrolling 2D adventure game?

amped 3 was so so…atleast it is worth playing..How could you not know who shawn white. is…dont get out much?
Ubisoft is on the right track..its been a long time since a ground breaking snowboarding game..and now with next gen..the time is now…looking forward to it..
