Xbox 360 accessories incoming

Christmas is now just around the corner and Microsoft have taken the time to kindly inform us of what we could be saving for. With new accessories abound, we now have the UK release dates to go with them, not to mention prices.

Taken from Microsoft’s press release:

Available from 17th November:
Xbox 360 Faceplates. Consumers can customize their consoles with one of three new special-edition faceplates featuring images from their favourite games, including the “Halo®” franchise and “Viva Piñata™” (ERP £14.99*)

Available from 24th November:
Xbox 360 Wireless Headset. Providing the ultimate wireless experience, this headset integrates seamlessly with the Xbox 360 console to provide wireless voice chat capabilities, stylish design and superior voice quality over the Xbox Live network (ERP £34.99*)

Xbox 360 Wireless Headset

Available from 1st December:
Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel with Force Feedback: For true racing enthusiasts who demand unparalleled driving realism at home, this innovatively designed wheel combines form and function with the latest technology in wireless and force feedback. Consumers who purchase the wheel will also get a limited-edition force feedback version of “Project Gotham Racing® 3” while supplies last (ERP £89.99*).

Xbox 360 Wireless Steering Wheel

HD DVD Player: The Xbox 360 HD DVD Player will retail for £129.99 (ERP*). The Xbox 360 HD DVD Player comes with the Universal Pictures’ blockbuster film Peter Jackson’s “King Kong” on HD DVD (for a limited time) and the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote.

Xbox 360 HD-DVD Drive

*Actual retail prices may vary.

So there we have it, a whole host of new gadgets heading our way. Now if only Microsoft were to offer a bundle or discount scheme for 360 owners who buy them. It’d be nice to buy the HD-DVD Drive and Wireless Steering Wheel to then get the Wireless Headset for free, or something along those lines. Free may be pushing it a bit, but some sort of discount would certainly go a long way.

We already got the headset here in the states….and it blows! Save yourself 60 bucks and yourself from a headache as people in a MP lobby complain about all the loud static

Mine works fine…turn the volume down if you get noise its probably because the mic is so close to the speaker.

mine works fine, too. I have had problems with static as well, but I’d normally mute it and unmute it and it seemed to correct things, I at least didn’t get any more complaints.

(however, I also turned down the volume in one of the cases, so it’s possible that was one of the issues as well, after all, this mic is supposedly more sensitive than the wired as well.

I’m going to be getting all three eventully(hd-dvd, headset and steering wheel) but there just isnt enought HD-DVD titles out here yet, and i dont really want a second copy of PGR3. I’m going to wait to see if they bundle it with forza 2

I just recieved my wireless headset today, works perfectly…very comfortable, no crackles like the good old logitech one i used to own for the original xbox and the voice is nice and clear on it. If you are sick of the terrible wired m$ headset i’d definately recommend this

I have the wireless headset and HD-DVD drive. The headset is crap. It causes some weird noises that other people hear, but I don’t. I get yelled at every game I go into. I’ve read a lot of other people have the same problem. I’d skip it.

The HD-DVD drive is great. HD movies really look amazing.

that wheel is going to be some bad ass shit! But why do we need a special edition of PGR3? will we need a special edition of all 360 driving games to get force feedback, or is it extra feedback with this special edition? Whats up with a special edition if I already own PGR3?

I have the headset and mine is great in every single game except one - UNO, I love the wireless set, but in UNO when starting a game - the game traps that moment when the mic auto turns on and it makes a buzz noise in everyones ear - except mine, and u need to turn it on and off. I personally think the problem is the way UNO functions with the mic rather than the mic itself as its fine for me in GRAW, POKER, racing games…

also the wireless mic is not quite like the pictures advertised. Only in that it doesn’t have the grey dot nor is the xbox writing grey - its embossed in white. also some think the mic bit is slightly extendable - its not, but its quite a sensitive mic so it needn’t be.

wowzers the head set sounds a bit iffy.

Definitely hold off on buying the wireless headset for a while. Not everyone has issues, but quite a few do. There is a pretty big thread in xbox.com’s accessories forum about it. Everyone in that thread has the same problems as me. Nobody has been able to see any kind of pattern that causes the noise and random disconnects.

My wireless headset should be here Tuesday. Crossing my fingers that I don’t have issues. HD-DVD hopefully in a month or so. I don’t plan on getting the steering wheel, I think my two year old would end up using it more than me (not on the 360).
