BIG surprises planned for Halo’s 5th birthday
The 15th of November marks the 5th birthday of Halo: Combat Evolved on the original Xbox and while we’ve had a solid amount of Halo 3 news over the past couple of weeks, it could get even better. In the latest weekly update on Bungie.net Frankie reports that Bungie isn’t going to let Halo’s 5th birthday happen without a bang.

If you thought there was a lot of Halo information last week, wait ‘til next week. A bunch of stuff is going down to celebrate the 5th anniversary of a little game we like to call Halo. In November 2001, Halo launched alongside the Xbox console, and the rest is history. Next year, Halo 3 will conclude the story arc begun all those years ago and next week, we’ll take a long lingering look at the series to date. There will also be some pretty BIG surprises and maybe announcements. Who can say?
Could it be a demo announcement? Unlikely. Could it be some new footage? Would be nice. Could it be some anniversary theme or gamerpic? Could be. In any case you can count on us for an update this Wednesday.

Halo 3 demo!!!
Halo CE over XBL would be nice!!!!!!!!
That would rock! Themes, pics, even demos are routine. CE on Live would really be a “big surprise” and it would make the anniversary mean something more than just marketing hype. It would also be a great example of Bungie/Microsoft giving back to the community that made them such a success, instead of just giving us another Marketplace trinket.

so lets hope. i doubt demo though. maybe an approx release date???? i cant help but think that if billy boy and the microsoft crew were thinking that there was even HALF a chance that it would be ready by ps3 release date, that it might not be as far as everyone thinks. but maybe im just fantasising. we can hope though
Halo Table Tennis
I believe it is either a release date for the game,”real time” footage of a single player level (like the E3 vid which looked real time but was actually scripted) or some new feature (like what the X button does). It won’t be a demo as that would take up too much development time and MS want this out as soon as possible. A free theme and pic pack would be nice though.
of course the announcement could be something stupid like “we’re 50% done”
“Real-time” means the movie is running in the game engine. Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid cut scenes are in real-time. The Halo 3 trailer at E306 was in real-time. Want proof? IGN has a documentary in which a Bungie worker is moving around the camera in the game engine while the Halo 3 trailer is playing, essentially looking at the E306 trailer from different view points.
i bet the announcement is the release date of halo3. surprises? i would love to see halo1 on xbox live. but its never gonna happen. lets see….i think a theme pack, and maybe a small halo2 online tournament to go along side of gears of war? never know.

Bungie may have let some team like Rooster Teeth get in on the pre-beta multiplayer to use the machinima recorder.
Just an idea…
we all know that Bungie will NEVER release and tangible media on H3. The BIG announcement will be that a blade of grass has been programed in one corner of a multiplayer map that wont be in the game. Gears owned them anyway
An update for Halo 1 enabling Live play, with exactly the same matchmaking system as Halo 2. I know this isn’t likely, but PLEASE let this happen, Halo 1 is my favorite shooter of all time.
Halo ce on xbox live would totally kick ass, pherhabs a update to the game 2 like u can use the fuel rod gun in mp.. =D that would totally be cool and by the way gears of war sucks
GoW online is horrible, Halo 2 Online is horrible..buuuut..
…Halo 1 online with a modified pistol would OWN… thats all they would need to change is the strength of the pistol and/or remove the scope.. thats what I would like to see personally.. I wouldnt even pick up Halo 3 if they did that… oh wait.. yes I wouuld Bungie, I’d even pre-order the Legendary edition on that day…whatever it takes
