		<description>Defender was never really about eye-candy - it was about having a deeper game (than Invaders, Asteroids, etc) with multiple objectives and penalties for not observing them.

It also had complex controls (for an arcade game) so took longer to master than your average game.

Of course, it's hard to imagine how complex the controls were, now that we have the nice 360 controller instead of the arcade cabinet's bewildering array of separate buttons!

I'm actually quite impressed with this port of Defender and like the fact that the 360 opens up gaming to a wider age group with different tastes than say the Wii and PS3, which are predominantly aimed at a younger audience.

The game's alright, there aren't that many retro/arcade games that I like though.
