Samurai Warriors 2 sequel in February
Koei have decided that another sequel to their rather successful franchise is necessary, so up step the sequel to Samurai Warriors 2- Samurai Warriors 2 Empires. The game is set in Feudal Japan this time, with a very tough task of re-uniting 25 regions under one rule. All this will be possible in late February.
Special events in the game chronicle major turning points in Japan’s history including “The Honnôji Incident” where the powerful warlord Oda Nobunaga, met his demise, and “The Battle of Kawanakajima,” considered the largest and most prolonged encounter of the Warring States era.
This game certainly sounds as if History buffs will enjoy this, since the history of Feudal Japan has been fully replicated here, if the press release is anything to go by. Whilst I have absolutely no knowledge of the Feudal Japan years, this game could provide an interesting insight into the history of it all if done well. It’s also the first “Empire” series to be set in Japan.
The game also features some interesting modes. You can design your own warrior first, then hook up with a friend and do some 2 player co-op missions with your new character. Or, if you don’t like the time consuming process of creating characters, you can use one of the 400 other playable characters on offer! There are also 5 “Unification” scenarios plus 6 “Regional” scenarios on offer, which should make the game relatively lengthy.
Prior to each battle, the player will meet with their war council to discuss military and political affairs; then it’s time for combat.
How this will influence the game this time around remains to be seen, since few details have been released thus far, so we also don’t know whether Live play will feature for the co-op, or a split screen only. Come the 27th of February 2007, we shall know.

Thanks koncreat for the submit.
