Well you’ve got one, in the form of a special event where you can win several excellent prizes. Microsoft yesterday announced that registration is now open for a new style tournament especially for the Arcade releases. The games for the first two tournaments are Lumines Live! and Small Arms, with the first tournament kicking off on the 17th of December.

The first tournament will be Lumines Live!, which will see you trying to get the best time in Time Attack Mode. The competition will run between the 17th of December to the 23rd, so you best get preparing by watching some replays of those that currently sit top.

The next tournament begins on the 24th of December, finishing on the 30th. It will be on the Xbox Live part of Small Arms, over Ranked Matches. You’ll be competing to reach the top of the leaderboards, which will subsequently be reset prior to the event for a level playing field.

But why enter if you’re not going to win anything? Well, that’s a problem easily solved:

Competitors in each event have the opportunity to win prizes ranging from a high definition plasma TV to Xbox hardware and Microsoft Points tokens.

A pretty good reason to partake in the event then! I myself will be ducking out due to me not owning Lumines and because everyone is better than me at Small Arms. But, for those who want to enter and take on the world, head over to here and sign up, then get ready to do battle!
