Prices sent into Oblivion for one week only
Bethesda seem to have been hit by the Christmas generosity bug as well, as it today announced that Mehrunes’ Razor will be free to download between the 22nd of December through to the 31st of December. Good news if you haven’t yet downloaded this.
Sadly it isn’t the recently released Knights of the Nine package, nor is it the Horse Armour which most definitely should be free, given that it adds little to the game for it’s steep price. Sadly this is one of two that I bought, which is rather annoying, although I admittedly no longer play this game.
Anyone out there that doesn’t own this download, yet still plays Oblivion? I’d be surprised, since this was released back in June and considered excellent back then, as it provides you with the ultimate weapon that kills everything and all. But I’m sure someone will benefit, and free stuff is always good!
I bought it a while ago and haven’t put much time in it at all. Maybe 5-10 hours. I bought the wizard’s keep. So I’ll gladly take the free download for whenever I get around to playing it again.
I bought this game the first week it was released. I’ve bought all the DLC for Oblivion, yes even the horse armor. I’ve played 3 characters and totaled about 250 hours of game play. This game has been the best value I’ve ever gotten out of any game since Morrowind on the original XBox.
It’s nice that they’ve made this DLC free. The blade you get at the end of the mission is nice, but it isn’t all that it’s made out to be. I rarely use it.

Does the KOTN dlc contain any of the previous ones, or are they all entirely separate from one another?

i held off from buying all the updates after one of the dissapointing ones i bought before(cant remember name) So at least i’ll have something to bring me back to oblivion for alittle while anyway. I wont be surprised if more devs do this with there stuff too.
some already have, I mean, the outfit (shit game) gave it’s DLC away for free a few months back.

But what about us poor chumps that’ve already d/l this? Why not give us all 1 free d/l and let us choose. The Tower, The Orrey, The Pirate ship/ Mehrunes Razor and Vile Lair are all the same MS points, why not let us choose.
I would like the wizards tower, but I’m not going to pay for it after already purchasing the Vile lair and Mehrunes Razor.
they’ve gotta make it standard for everyone, they can’t say “ok pick 1 for free,” it has to be the same for everyone
Surely “all the same MS points, why not let us choose” would be a standard too? It’s not like there is any sort of precedent set.
It’s one of the three bits I have bought, so I’m not too pleased. Good stuff for those of you who don’t have it though.
Would probably be a right bugger to implement - taking the price off a single one is much easier.

Hmm. I haven’t downloaded any of the new packages, because I stopped playing Oblivion before they were all released (Well, besides the horse armor, but no way am I buying that. I barely use horses as it is.) I will definitely be downloading this, as it is free.

Well I’ve been playing Oblivion a ton since the free Razor add on. I had only about 5 hours on it previously at level 2. Started played the Razor add on and really got into it. It was pretty tough killing every soldier in the place with my puny character but I finished the quest as a level 11 vampire with a good haul of loot. Now I’m pretty much hooked on playing it for a while.
