First Worms screenshots
We already told you that Worms HD was coming along nicely and that its release shouldn’t be too far away but footage of the Xbox Live Arcade title were still missing in action. Luckily the guys at Xbox-Attitude were kind enough to grab some screenshots from their debugkit. Don’t you just love it when a site is possibly breaking NDA for your viewing pleasure? You’ll be delighted to know that the XBLA rendition of Worms is a classic 2D Worms game, not one of those inferior 3D sequels.
We don’t speak French but Xbox-Attitude seems to mention a price of 800MP ($10), which is more than reasonable for a title that could be one of the bigger ones on the Xbox Live Arcade. The releasedate is still to be determined but keep an eye on Xboxic, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything.

i liked 3D except for the camera it was a bitch sometimes
well this will be fun is it worms or will it feature all the worms weapons tho ?!?

There is a screenshot I saw and it’s a basic weapons set. As in, from the very first Worms.
hopefully not…that’d be crap if the stuff like super sheep, mole squadron etc aren’t included (or atleast not in a free d/l pack)

Anyway, without the “First Blood” sound it’s not worms. That’s what I wrote above with a left pointing “arrow” but the comment script thought that was a html tag and cut it off.
Can’t wait to play this game. Team17 should have stuck with the 2d series, the 3d version did not translate very well at all.

Can someone recognize which version of Worms is this? There were like 3 or so on PC.
nice, let’s just hope that the 50MB limit won’t keep them from leaving too much out, why doesn’t MS just increase it so that there won’t have to be extra packs for download, even if they’re free

Sorry, but you guys preferring the 3D version are obviously high…(send me some) The 2D version(s) is one of the best games ever made.
I mostly played PC versions but I did have the dreamcast one…. playing online back then was sweet… and it’s going to be even better this time around with xbox live. Can’t wait.
-The only prob I see… is sound files take up some space… so we will probably only get a few “accents”…. but that’s ok I guess… I’m sure they will release some more later.

i agree with wet vein in the fact that the 2d one was better. also, for those of you who keep asking if its in 2d, look at the screenshot, its 3d in a 2d world i.e. 3d characters and enviroment up against a 2d wall. so it is like the 2d version
Don’t recognize a direct port from the screenshots but I wouldn’t be suprised if it’s the World Party engine with updated graphics and levels. Looks like it’s going to be fun! I played a lot of World Party on the Dreamcast online and Armageddon on the computer.
Christ I had this on the Amiga, no thats going back a bit.
