Call of Duty 3 bonus map “Champs” on marketplace
Yesterday we reported that the Gears of War maps are on the marketplace and it seems that Epic isn’t the only developer releasing maps this week. Back in December we gave you the good news that Treyarch is going to release new maps for their World War II shooter Call of Duty 3 and now we’re happy to tell you that the free map, which is a rather big 167.96MB for only one map, is now on the marketplace.
Major Nelson has posted an article on his blog giving the fans of Treyarch’s first-person shooter the news that they have been waiting for. However, the Valour Map Pack, which will contain 5 maps and will cost you 800 Microsoft Points, is unfortunately not available and the Major doesn’t mention anything about it either. But here is what he said about the Champs map.

As you can see the map is available to anyone in any region with a Gold Membership and the best thing about it is that it’s, as promised, free to download. Like I said, there is still no word on when the Valour Map Pack will be on the marketplace but we can be fairly certain that it will be released within the next few weeks. So go and download the map and make sure to check back here as we will be sure to let you know when the Valour Map Pack is available.
with the way things have gone, this is probably all the maps, but you will have to pay to unlock the others contained in this map pack.

Rainbow Six won the battle between it and COD3 for me. Being 168 megs I would suspect too that this is all the maps you’ll just buy an unlock for the a pack later.

Just pointing out the obvious irony.
this map shows a lot of promise. it is sizeable, and it has recognizable landmarks to shout out, that people can identify, even if they are new to the map.
Forward the ports 88 and 3074 on zour router before you complaing about CoD3. Its MP works great, no lag for me.
Also what is this whining about XBL gold? It only costs 3 Euro/month and gives you great service. I prefer it to “free” internet (for playing).
