Hot off the rumour mill comes this little tidbit of information. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has been given a release date, albeit from a very unofficial source, and it may be sooner than you all had thought.

Rumoured to be landing on the 10th of February, it is also meant to be 96MB in size, which is obviously above the 50MB limit set by Microsoft on day 1 for XBL Arcade games, as we reported a few days ago. This may be a problem for some, who bought a Core and didn’t purchase the Hard Drive, since their memory cards can only hold around 50MB of data.

We heard the achievements had been leaked last week, and we had video footage straight from CES with the game looking rather good. No price is mentioned as of yet, but, as a retro title, it really should be 400 Points. Chances are though it will be 800 Points, simply because it is 96MB and MS might feel they have a right to charge more.

Hopefully this is true, but as ever, since nothing official has yet to be announced, this is filed under “Rumour”. Perhaps more importantly, the game’s release date is on a Saturday, as opposed to the usual Wednesday. Now it’s true that we have seen an XBLA title released once on a Saturday, that of Mortal Kombat, but would MS do it again? We at Xboxic cannot be sure at this stage, so for now take it with a pinch of salt, but believe that it could happen again. Just maybe.
