Microsoft searching for Live suggestions
Andre from the Xbox team, more commonly known by his gamertag of Ozymandias has kindly asked for your thoughts on the future of Live. Not to be out done, our beloved Larry, more commonly known by his gamertag of Major Nelson has jumped on board asking for suggestions on the future of Xbox 360, Xbox.com and Xbox Live.
Ozymandias begins by saying “I’m doing some thinking around the future of “Xbox Live”. I put Xbox Live in quotes only because Live will be stretching beyond the console this year with the release of Live on Windows, and we’re looking at a future where multiple devices will all be able to connect into the same service. My question to you is what big features would you want to see out of Live in the future?”
With the emphasis being on big and future, what suggestions can you offer? Be sure to head over to Ozymandias’ blog and read his entire request to find out exactly what he’s looking for.
Secondly, with Ozymandias asking for suggestions on such a broad array of devices based around the future of Live Anywhere, Major Nelson has taken the opportunity to expand on this by seeking suggestions on Xbox 360, Xbox.com and Xbox Live. The Major had this to say: “With your input, you have helped mold what the service is today. You talk, we listen…that’s one of the ways we get feedback. I get a couple of hundred emails each week suggesting new Xbox Live features and I pass those onto the developers here in the building…so we are listening”.
There you have it, they are listening so feel free to make a visit to Major Nelson’s blog to leave your much sought after ideas. As excited as we are over what the future could hold for Live Anywhere, it’s very refreshing to see Microsoft asking the users what they’re really hoping for.

Yeah, how about group mother-fuckin’ chat?
I second that Trig.
Fuck yeah! Every time they ask it’s what I answer, means we can finally ignore the squeaky voice masked annoying little fuck loafs.
Fourthed
no doubt. for the love of all things mercifully unholy, fifthed.
make that a goddamn six
7
Eighthed.
DivX-support.

DivX / Xvid Support

Web browser and msn messenger on the xbox360
Divx/Xvid/Browser and MSN
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!!
JOIN ZUNE MARKETPLACE AND XBOX MARKETPLACE, so we can watch our purchased or rented movies/tvshows on our zune (add a sub-sd version for a buck cheaper and do the same way as sd if you buy or bought sd you get sub-sd if you buy hd you get sub-sd and sd and hd)
and join the Zune Marketplace to Xbox Marketplace so we can get our music on our 360 as well! If i bought a song let me grab a copy on my 360 of it… or if i have a zunepass let me download on my 360 as well… or hell hok it up so i can live stream my 360 from zune marketplace!
Some Zune integeration would be nice , wish I could see my friend lists from my zune , maybe even send/rec messsages from ppl on xbox live.
I have a zune and would like:
A text reader intergrated in my Zune for word docs and .txt
Wifi internet browser
Wifi sync
the bigest feature i want is:
more control on my Microsoft passport. I want to change my email adres to a new one so i can keep my orginal xbox live stuff(purchased licenceses etc.)
But i can’t :/
I want features ‘built-in’ to the 360 that games can implement and leverage to greatly enhance the online experience (TrueSkill just doesn’t cut it!!!)
Examples:
* Halo 2 (or 3)-style matchmaking, lobby, and party system available for all games to leverage. (no more half-assed lobbies!)
* a ladder and tournament system that all games can leverage for creating, scheduling, and supporting private competitions
Granted, game devs would still have to put in work to be able to use these systems, but this would be much better than each one having to write a nerfed lobby system on their own from scratch every time (ie, GoW, GRAW, etc.)
i would like to see a free daily porno everytime you log into live
I’d sign up for that.
Need to be in HD or I ain’t interestd.
Quality so high you can count the pubes, except you would probably turn up with the answer 0 in most cases.
Clan Support on the 360 dashboard, so that game Developers don’t have to worry about putting it in their games
Group chat, group video chat… .avi,.mpeg support?Optimize the dasboard more,so it comes up faster and doesnt freeze in games. All games need Halo 2 like lobby and matchmaking.
Give us a web browser then all my sh*t head m8’s really can shut up about the ps’3 and what it’s got.
standardized lobby/party/clan support.
Too bad Bungie has the best system and it doesn’t look like they want to share.
.
.
.
and I don’t blame them! Maybe charge other devs to use the IP?
oh, and being able to talk to MORE than one person at a time privately.
I think a few things should be added.
As already mentioned:
-Web Browser is necessary
-So is live messenger support. (I mean its already using passport accounts… and using text & voice/video chat… how hard could it be?)
-More video format support
Also I think they should remove the “ads” in the dashboard. While they aren’t 3rd party ads, They are undesirarable and take away from the clean and smooth dashboard interface. This really bugs me. Inside XBL market place is okay, but on the dashboard?? I just don’t like it and I really think it takes away from the good interface Microsoft has built.
I’d like to play protected iPod music so I can get some of this crap off of my harddrive and not have to burn a CD every time I buy a new CD off of iTunes
dividable friends list, i.e split ti mates/pro evo tourny/gears clan etc.
Group chat is needed too, that would be awsome
make rumble roses a full download b/c i cant find it anywhere and its pissing me off.A full download would be much easier to maintain.
