SEGA’s response on HDD required game
Worthplaying posted SEGA’s official response on the hard-disk requiring Football Manager 2006. The statement still doesn’t clarify why a HDD is required and we still don’t know whether or not more games requiring a HDD will be released.
“Because we wanted to give Xbox 360 users a superior game experience with the same richness and tactical depth that Football Manager has traditionally offered, we asked Microsoft whether we could develop Football Manager 2006 to be a Hard Drive only game. Microsoft agreed as they wanted the best possible game for their console, and with Xbox Live multiplayer being incorporated into the title, we now have a complete Football Manager experience for console gamers, the first time in the franchise’s history.”

So basically, “because they HAD to!” Otherwise it would fill a memory card.
ReVolt; yeah that could be the case but then every game would require either a MU or a HDD. I don’t think it’s a save-game only thing but I could be wrong.
But you cant save your games witthout a MU or HDD????
Yeah but you can play them so then the warning sould be somehting like ‘HD required to save’,,,
If past Football Manager games are anything to go by, it will also use the hard drive during the game to store temp files etc for caching, when processing large amounts of data. So yes, I’d imagine the hard drive is required for the game to even function.
