Lumines Live add-on packs
A bunch of Lumines Live add-on packs have been made available on the Xbox Live Marketplace today just like we have announced earlier. The Heavenly Star Skin Pack, which is one of the three packs, will be offered for free for a short period of time for Xbox Live Gold members only. The other two packs will set you back a mere 100 MS Points which is quite reasonable if you consider the 1200 MS Points costing base pack of Lumines Live.
The prices mentioned above are only valid until February 21st. As you can see below, the Heavenly Star Skin Pack will be priced at 150 MS Points after said date and the other two packs will set you back 300 MS Points after that same date. Even if you haven’t purchased Lumines Live yet and there’s even the slightest chance you will in the future, now is a good time to download these packs, at least the free one.
People who are still using a memory card instead of a hard drive shouldn’t bother trying to download these packs because it simply wouldn’t fit with Lumines Live on the same memory card. Another side note is that the content isn’t available for Japanese players but that’s not surprising since the standard edition isn’t available either even though it’s considered a highly popular game over there.
Heavenly Star Skin (124.50Mb)
Cost: For a limited time only, available free for Xbox Live Gold members from Jan. 24 - Feb 21, 2007.
Performed by a new group called Genki Rockets and produced by Q Entertainment’s own Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the song’s catchy and uplifting tune combined with equally striking video has caught the attention of many gamers and was recently nominated Best Song at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards. Gamers can enjoy the music video in stunning HD and 5.1 surround sound as they play their way through the falling blocks.
VS CPU Pack (24.48Mb)
Cost: For a limited time only, 100 MS Points starting Jan. 24 – Feb 21, 2007. (Price after February 21, 2007: 300 MS Points)
Show off your skills by challenging the CPU. This new game pack also includes a stylish skin and character designs that match the theme of each of the stages. A special bonus skin is waiting for you at the very end of the challenge.
Puzzle/Mission Pack (29.59Mb)
Cost: For a limited time only, 100 MS Points starting Jan. 24 - Feb 21, 2007. (Price after February 21, 2007: 300 MS Points)
“Lumines Live!” is not just about dropping blocks. In Puzzle Mode, you must try to create a certain shape by using the blocks. In Mission Mode, you will be given a mission to clear all blocks within a specified amount of moves. With an additional 90 puzzles to solve and 40 missions to clear, you won’t want to miss this Pack. (The first 10 puzzles and missions are included in the Standard Edition; by purchasing the Pack, the total number is 100 puzzles and 50 missions)
If you wait too long you’ll have to cough up 2550 MS Points for the full Lumines Live Experience, and that’s without the Music Pack which is also headed our way this Spring.

Yay, cheap content. Good news.
Now let the whining begin - may I suggest some complaints about how you want Worms, or how the original game was overpriced?
lol - got all the packs - Lumines is fun
but I am looking forward to Worms also…
I do enjoy it but don’t think I will ever be able to top the leaderboard. Not due to a lack of skill but just when I reach the half mil you have been playing for over an hour and at that point I just can’t be bothered anymore as you have went round all the skins.
GIMMIE MORE SKINS SO I CAN TOP THE LEADERBOARD!
I haven’t even completed base! lol - i get as far as bright orange (not the first orange) and then it just goes pear shape
Request and you shall get.
WE WANT WORMS… WE WANT WORMS… WE WANT WORMS…
Sorry couldn’t resist
Yup.
And even though I got it, FUCK ME THAT GAME IS OVERPRICED.
Agreed. Completely. With all of that.
What a rip. Why is a game add on considered a Wed. Live release? That’s my main complaint… Oh yeah and:
WORMS!
CARCASSONNE!
SETTLERS OF CATAN!
ANYTHING BUT A GAME ADD ON FOR OUR WEEKLY RELEASE!
Worms is having problems with certification.
Yep, cheap content is great, especially when the Base is so expensive (I haven’t bought the 600 pack.) I can’t make it past the minty-looking skin (#3)
And I agree, game add-ons are a bad choice for Live Wednesday. Microsoft should have had Sonic out for months now.
