Tip off: “NBA demo is up”

Bad titles aside, the NBA Street Homecourt demo is now up and available for download. As promised by EA yesterday, the demo has arrived on time. Since it’s still downloading for me, I can’t currently tell you what is included, though I’m guessing two teams and a court will feature predominantly in the demo.

The demo itself weighs in at 509.82MB for those concerned about their bandwidth. Courtesy of Major Nelson:

Name: NBA Street Homecourt Demo
Price: Free
Availability: Gold members in all Xbox Live regions
Dash Details: NBA Street Homecourt Demo. Put your Homecourt on the map February 20th.

Once again it sucks to be a Silver Member, who can’t automatically get the demo. Also, Mr. Nelson doesn’t mention when it will be available to Silver Members like he normally does, which seems to suggest that maybe those who don’t pay for the service will be seeing less and less content in the future.

Go and download the demo now and find out what is on offer. I’m looking forward to testing this one out.

Silver members not getting demos = games that might not be sold. Well, unless it’s a demo of a crappy game. I doubt they’re going to restrict that. If they are… I might just sell my 360, because I don’t use online multiplayer and I refuse to pay for demos.

Hardly a real reason for flogging the 360 though.

You don’t pay for demos and you don’t play MP so check out games you ain’t sure about on the Net or just buy them and take them back within seven days, there you go problem solved and you don’t even need to sell the xbox.

After 1 hour, I was at 33%. So yes, very slow!

still downloading as of 14:35gmt started around 10.30am….¬_¬

93% as of 3:45. Now is this the bandwidth tight because of artificial limits set by M$? or cos its popular?! I for one want to see if the graphics live up to the videos I’ve seen, the gameplay if its good will be a bonus. Yeah I’ve always been a graphics whore and thats cos for video games they’re very important for how I perceive the game that and I like to see my badass nextgen console deliver badass nextgen content.

not that this takes away any from the game but did they not change the basketball?? in the screenshot above the composite ball is shown

It’s an alright demo actually, I haven’t played NBA Street before.

Anyone know if the demo is Offline MP or online mp?

I don’t know what y’all problem is, but the hole thing took me only 25 mn. and i think is cool as hell. if you like basketball of course

Seemed like the Harlem Globetrotters mixed with The Three Stooges. I guess I’d rather play a real game of basketball then dribbling off people’s foreheads, kicking the ball back and forth, hackey sacking the ball, etc. I won’t be buying it.
