Before a game gets released, a rating has to be applied to it by the ESRB. If you do a quick search on their website for Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts, you’ll find an entry which states that it’s received an E-rating (everyone) for various platforms, including the Xbox 360.

You should keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed by developer Capcom, which means this is just a rumor at this point. How did it get on the ESRB website you ask? Probably by mistake since the Virtual Console version on the Wii and the Gameboy Advance version were out already. As you might have guessed, we have no further information available on the title because of the rumor status. TeamXbox thinks that if this rumor turns out to be true, it’s likely we’ll see a conversion of the Gameboy Advance version which had some improvements over the original version of Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts.

It is expected that we’ll get the same version of Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts that was released in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance, which featured all of the game play elements that made the original Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts of the most beloved classic video games of all time plus, newly designed enemies and stages.

If you’ve never heard of (Super) Ghouls ‘N Ghosts you should be ashamed of yourself, but if you’re a young gamer it’s probably quite understandable. The game was released on the Super Nintendo in 1991 as a sequel to Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. And since pictures say more than words, take a look at a SNES screenshot to get an idea of what this side scrolling game is about. You’ll be playing Arthur and your mission is to rescue your girlfriend who was abducted by an evil monster.

If this eventually turns out to be true we won’t be seeing it for a while at least since the next 10 XBLA games have been announced already as you can read over here.
