Forza Motorsport 2 - European release date confirmed
Last month it was with great pleasure that we informed you of Forza Motorsport 2’s forthcoming debut in May 2007. Unfortunately for us, that confirmation was only for North America. Though we Europeans are used to being made to wait, we can now confirm when we’ll be getting our racing thrills, find out after the jump.
Speaking on the official Forza Motorsport website, Che Chou was kind enough to bring peace of mind to all us European racers with the following statement:
A few weeks ago, we committed to a May 2007 release date for North America. Now Turn 10 and Microsoft Game Studios is happy to announce that Forza Motorsport 2 will also see its European retail debut in May 2007. After some debate, we felt it was only right for Forza Motorsport 2’s online community if we were to release the game on a global level simultaneously.
Clearly the developers at Turn 10 realise that we Europeans make the best drivers and shouldn’t be kept waiting! Upon announcing the North American release date last month, we were also promised a stream of information building up to the games release. We were given a helping of multiplayer details, two cars were then unveiled and we now have the first of six Forza Motorsport 2 car reveal lists featuring the following European exotics:
We’re very excited about Forza Motorsport 2 here at Xboxic and will endeavour to bring you all the latest news regarding the game as we build up to its release.
Thanks to Se7eN for submitting!

Mint!
looks good, but gras & some of the enviroment looks a bit poor. I’d rather have it at 30 FPS with better graphics anyway…or 45 FPS or whatever
You really don’t look at the environments when you’re driving… you look at the next corner, and that’s really it.
Regardless, they have plenty of time to finish environments off, and add the grass shaders. (After all, Che said the shaders are often the last things to be tweaked… and the 3d-grass is a shader effect).
no full date still? just may
Afraid not Tucky, still just May but that’s good enough for me!
This is good news really looking forward to this, it better support my force feedback wheel.
As for us getting it the same time as Americans, to bloody right show me a good American car that can go round corners?????? (other than Saleen which is designed by us Europeans anyway) all the Americans are good at is getting pathetic horsepower from huge engines.
*Starts the argument*
:D:D:D:D:D
hehehe, it was inevitable that somebody would start up that discussion!
Their not great at doing that anyway, not like the germans anyway
LOOKS NICE….ANYWAY
WE WANT WORMS WE WANT WORMS
And I think I can answer for most when I say, we would like you to shut your fucking hole.
Well, I think the pics are very underwhelming. I am not like the graphical style or the backgrounds in this game. It’s suppose to be a simulator yet it looks cartoony.
I’m no fanboy but the PS3 Gran Turismo demo looked way better. Oh yeah, I know it’s not finished but May is right around the corner if you haven’t realized it and this came graphically still looks behind for a next-gen title.
I think I just wet myself
seriously!!
hmm all those cars are my favorites
can’t frikken wait for this game to come out!!
the only thing I miss is the murciélago LP640, but I hope that’ll be the first DLC
“Europeans make the best drivers” only because your auto manufacturers concern themselves with total performance (e.g. handling and horsepower) rather than Detroit’s obsession with straight line performance.
Ohh i’m gona love this argument.
European manufacturers concern themselves with building cars that last more than 5 minutes as well not just performance/Handling.
American cars are so badly put together it’s a joke. I can ‘t ever imagine a American car manufacturer coming up with anything to even remotely challenge the Bugatti Veyron, EVER PERIOD, let alone Rolls Royce, Bently, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and of course i can’t forget my name sake and the car i own, Lotus, to name just a few. American cars BAH it’s a contradiction in terms.
i’m english. lotus isn’t. it was owned by proton but now it looks like the american giant ford will be owners soon enough. and anyway. the american have enough balls to build their own engines. not borrow engines from japanese manufacturers. American cars aren’t that badly put together anymore. in all fairness you cant say the same about mercedes in the past 10 years who’ve gone from bad to word. European marques are still the best at the moment, but the brits have none barr bristol. everything is owned by either ford (aston, jaguar) VAG (bentley) or BMW (rolls, mini).
That new HEMI out this year looks and sounds like a belter! hopefully it gets the credit it deserves!
Forza looks more and more like a killer game.
look at the current mercedes models and take your words back please, mercedes is back at the top.
but why are you talking about car build-quality and englishness and whatever while the real question is who are the better drivers?
Since there’s stricter rules concerning driving licenses (age, and a pretty high level of testing your skills, at least in the netherlands) I’d say Europeans are better drivers..
We need some stats, I bet the americans crash more cars
It’s not who owns them now that counts, these company’s get brought out so company’s like Ford can try gain a ‘Prestige’ brand a-la Aston. As for Lotus using other’s engines (rover/toyota) that happens all the in the industry, jeez look at the Chrysler Crossfire it uses the old underpinnings from an ancient Mercedes. As for build quality of American cars even they admit it’s piss poor, which would explain why Japanese makers are leading the sales charts over there.
As for crash stats im not surprised Americans crash less, they have huge roads and drive like they got Ms Daisy in the back.

255mph enough for you?
American cars need big engines with enough torque to move their fat American arses along the road.
No Astons and no Jaguars?
There are way too many crappy Porsches though.
Totally agree, 7 Porsche 911’s is a bit of a copout for me to, even if they are different power/handling models on them all.

The point is ANYONE can put 1000bhp in a car, some people tune Nissan Skyline’s 2.5 litre engine upto that spec. The challenge is to make it easy to drive, the Bugatti Veyron is a simple car to drive at its top speed. If you watched Top gear last week on BBC2 you would of seen Captain Slow doing 253Mph without even breaking a sweat or even having to shout. Anyone who’s knows anything about cars will tell you that a Dodge Viper, while a great looking car, will never be that good as it’s got ancient design under that body(chassis rails) it’s problay even got leaf springs on it
. McClaren got 240Mph out of a car 10 yrs ago, but according to people who took it to those speeds, it was a nervous twitchy scary thing. Drag cars get pass 253Mph in about the time it takes to crack a good fart out, but they are not easy to drive.
NEXT
Although i will admit this at £114,000 that is one damn cheap thunderbolt of a car. You could get 7.5 of these to 1 Bugatti Veyron.
How handy is that - my birthday is in may
whats the forza website somebody please? http://www.forzamotorsport2.com ?
