Casual Games get serious

Microsoft have announced that they have set up a new website for wannabe developers to find out some more information on getting their game mainstream, on upcoming developer events and much more.

Microsoft Casual Games develops, publishes, and distributes web-based and download games in every major casual game genre (puzzle, word, card and arcade). On a monthly basis, Microsoft Casual Games reaches more than 120 million global players; that’s more than a third of the US population!

The official site has several different links providing developers who might be interested in creating a game for Microsoft with a lot of information at their finger tips. As well as the upcoming events calendar already mentioned, information is also provided on each of the three services (Xbox Live Arcade, MSN Games and Windows Live Messenger), helping you decide which platform your game would be most appropriate for, as well as developer resources that some of you may be interested in.

Head over to the official site and see what’s there. It is promised that more information will be added in the future, so it is worth keeping an eye on if this sort of thing is of interest to you.
