TMNT confirmed for the Arcade

There were rumblings in our very own forum, but it has now been confirmed that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade. It isn’t a new game, it is the version released back in the arcades all those years ago, but with some screenshots and a video after the jump, you will soon remember the greatness that once was!

Originally unveiled over at 360Style, it was later confirmed by Xbox First that the game was up on PartnerNet, meaning it is fully playable with working achievements and everything else. The game promises four player co-op goodness, both online and offline.

For those that don’t know or remember, TMNT on the arcade is a side scrolling beat-em-up, in a similar vein to that of Streets of Rage. With four players joining up and battling against the mighty Shredder himself, it will be a retro game worthy of being on the Arcade. I doubt many people will complain about this one. To see the game in action, head over to InsideGamer, the ever reliable guys that always seem to have some footage!

Thanks lra2or for submitting, and thanks to JDUDE11 for originally posting in the forums.

Yay! I spent fortunes playing that (and the Simpsons one, which surely must be in the pipeline to tie in with the movie too) when I was younger.

Been hoping for it for ages :D

In your face worm man.

Now this is a worthy XBLA release of an old arcade game! I’d like some old Capcom, King of Dragons, etc.

sweet! this game made me learn to make ’slugs’. For those that don’t know, older arcade machines couldn’t tell the difference between a quarter or a nickle that had been punded flat with a hammer to the approz dimensions of a quarter.
My cousins and I would trade a handful of quarters (at $0.25 each for our UK friends) for 5x as many nickels (at $0.05 each). The rest fo the afternoon would be spent hammering them out and comparing them with a proper quarter. This wasn’t 100% perfect, but we got tremendously more bang for our buck.

***NOTE***
In no way am I promoting this kind of behaviour. Mostly because the newer machines recognize the coins by weight now, instead of just circumfrence size.

good times….good times….

cool, that might be fun :D

This sounds like the one I used to play in Chuck E. Cheese. If so, I’ve been wanting it since day one.
