At the New York Comic-Con, the folks over at IGN got a sneak peek at the new Fantastic 4 game set to accompany the new movie, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Get ready for another super-hero brawler.

Like any good movie based game, the character models will be based on the actors and actresses from the film instead of models based on the comics. The game will be team-based with an emphasis on cooperative play. The game takes place across six huge levels, and emphasizes interaction between characters. One of the ways this is done in combat is through fusion attacks, in which multiple team members combine for a special attack. Examples of the fusion attack include one in which the Invisible Woman creates a ball of force energy that the Human Torch fills with fireballs creating a large explosion. Another has Mr. Fantastic stretch into a slingshot, hurling The Thing into the ground for a slam attack. In addition to standard combat and puzzle segments of the game, there will also be at least one rail shooting segment which puts you in control of the Human torch.

Expect to face large numbers of Skrull as common enemies, along with a Skrull boss in the form of Super Skrull. You can also expect to face a slew of old favorites from the Fantastic 4 comics like Red Ghost and of course Dr. Doom. Look for Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer this June as it releases alongside the movie.
